Love it. I follow a few newsletters who swear by Beehiiv (or however it’s spelled) and say that despite initial fears they actually take home more money. However I’m 1,000% positive you know what you’re doing and have looked into that.

@astonvillareview.com Have you considered moving off of Substack to something else? Going to support you no matter what but would feel better not giving money to Substack.

@steviegreen.bsky.social I’m going to subscribe to Having a Coke (surprising no one your writing is brilliant). But before I did was was wondering if there’s any chance you’d move off of Substack. Nothings perfect obviously, but Substack is pretty odious.

Okay the rain showed up with furious winds.

Robert Lintott @rlintott.bsky.social · 04/09/2026

Also almost no thunder despite it clearly being overhead. Very odd.

@capitalweather.com TONS of lightning with this storm but still no rain in Columbia Heights.

Eh, at least we don’t have to put up with sulking when Madjo gets played ahead of him. Like he did to Ings. Or Duran. Or Rashford. Or…

Robert Lintott @rlintott.bsky.social · 26/08/2026

Exactly. I am all for “get that bag” but “get that bag at the extreme expense of a team and a fan base who have supported you when you weren’t really all that good” is not a good look

Robert Lintott @rlintott.bsky.social · 26/08/2026

Man I thought I’d be so sad when he left but he burned that bridge bright and fast. Enjoy anonymity as an end to what should have been a great career, dude.

I went in that shop on Tuesday for the first time and I cannot begin to tell you how disappointed I was that no crow was there to read the cards for me.

I keep thinking about the fact that Skubal’s team went 0-2 when he started in the playoffs last year.

Robert Lintott @rlintott.bsky.social · 25/07/2026

My one piece of advice is to make sure you buy something that fits the amperage of the circuit it’s on. We were hamstrung because our circuit was only 15a while most full sized induction cooktops calls for 30a. Still happy with what we have but it prevented me from getting a huge one.

Robert Lintott @rlintott.bsky.social · 25/07/2026

I’ve worked in professional kitchens with gas and always wanted it at home. When we bought our condo it didn’t have a gas hookup, so I got induction. Now if I were starting from scratch I would go with induction. It’s amazing! Easy to clean. Fast to use.

Villa won a trophy and I’m so glad that @jamesrushton.bsky.social and @jackgrimse.com got to be there. The spirit of 7500 to Holte lives on. Two of the most wonderful, loyal Villa fans that I’ve ever had the privilege of knowing. Doesn’t hurt that they’re both exceptional story-tellers. UTV forever!

@astonvillareview.com I assume the player ratings are just: Martinez - 10: won a European final for Aston Villa. Cash - 10: won a European final for Aston Villa. Konsa - 10: won a European final for Aston Villa… &c.

Holy shit, Villa. What a half!

The gap between Gehrig and third is 823 games. So if Matt Olson gets up to third all he has to do is repeat the tenth-longest consecutive game streak in MLB history and he’ll he just one game shy of second. Insanity.

@capitalweather.bsky.social check out the cool rainbows (sun dogs?) this morning in Columbia Heights.

Two circular arcs of rainbow that intersect at one edge over a building. Mostly blue skies behind.

She’s not wrong that federal body cam footage/wearing identification would be a federal issue, which is why it’s good that these bills address MPD. I know she’s happy to cooperate but for now MPD isn’t federal. She’s just awful.

Suggestion: team pursuit finals should be the last event of long track and they should not be a distance race. Instead you skate until one team catches the other. However long it takes.
