The American myth of the Lone Hero, a heroic figure who saves the day, as helpless townies stand by, fosters collective inertia, a belief 'we' is weak & ineffectual, but don't worry, 'he' will appear. It's a lie divorced from reality & evolution. Without a powerful 'us', there is no 'me'.

CALLS ARE WORKING - it has bought us precious time, but we NEED to keep the pressure up. Tomorrow is the cloture vote. KEEP CALLING: (202) 224-3121 ☎️☎️☎️ Tell your Dem Senator to vote NO on Cloture and NO on the Republican spending bill. Do NOT assume your Senator will be good on this. Trust me.

🚨 Everyone needs to call their Dem Senator right now. They are starting to cave. Tell them: 1. Vote NO on Cloture AND 2. Vote NO on the Republican spending bill. Don’t let them pivot to reconciliation. GOP doesn’t need Dem votes on that and they know it. TODAY is the showdown. 🤳🏽: (202) 224-3121

Some people think getting your books banned is a badge of honor, but it’s not. As I told Ms. Mag: “It’s not a badge of honor to have my creative work denigrated as obscene, especially when that work is about queer people and people of color. It’s offensive to have my work mischaracterized this way.”

I am 34. When I was dating last year, I realized real fast I don’t think I can even date someone in their late 20s. But I kept it fairly wide: 30-45. Still went on a date with a 52yo and I felt that age gap 😅 now I’m dating a 40yo who is just perfect for where we’re both at in life!

The Trump admin could've done more subtle attacks on the trans community that would survive legal scrutiny but they're so arrogant, they thoroughly baked in animus with incendiary language into every executive order.
A screenshot of three tweets from Chris Geidner (@chrisgeidner.bsky.social) discussing a legal exchange regarding discrimination against transgender people and the concept of a "quasi-suspect class."

1st tweet:
"Reyes goes off.
'You cannot tell me that transgender people are not being discriminated against.' Of the Stonewall website deletion, Reyes says, 'We are literally erasing their contributions to modern society. … It screams animus.'"
(11 comments, 371 retweets, 1.6K likes)

2nd tweet:
"DOJ's Lynch responds: We do not think it merits creating a new quasi suspect class.
Reyes replies: 'What on earth would?'"
(8 comments, 56 retweets, 658 likes)

3rd tweet:
"Levi gets up, adds other examples of discrimination and political powerlessness in conjunction with standards for a finding of a quasi-suspect class."
