The 988 hotline’s LGBTQ+ youth service is back, over a year after the Trump admin shut it down. LGBTQ+ youth can once again press 3 after calling 988 to talk with specially trained counselors. This is what it looked like when the service stopped last year — partially in June, then fully in July.
This image shows an area chart demonstrating that calls, texts or chats to 988 by LGBTQ+ youth seeking specialized services through "option 3" rose continuously from September 2022 to July 2025 — then suddenly dropped down to zero, since the option was discontinued. The visualization looks like a cliff.

I appreciate that Dolly Parton refused to participate in "dress respectability" and, by her own account, modeled her aesthetic after a town "tramp," who she thought was beautiful. She separated aesthetics from character and understood "classiness" to be about how you treat people, not how you dress.
