Why only the velvet glove? The EU should block Turkey's access to the European market, along with any country that trades with it, until it ends its occupation of EU territory and respects the internationally recognised territorial and 12 nm maritime borders and EEZ of Greece and Turkey.

Good to get the Alberta referendum out of the way. The US isn't effective at leading influence ops yet. Destabilisation of Canada isn't a core interest of Russia so they sat this one out.

Spain Is Paying Russia More Than Ukraine ! While you are cheering for €1 billion sent to Kyiv, Spain spent over €9.5 billion buying Russian liquefied natural gas (LNG) since the war began. Ukrainians are dying and European security endangered because Spain wants cheap gas. Spain is a disgrace.

Feeding off one another? Multiple countries, different reasons, all while Russia is advancing into Free Europe... isn't it obvious? Russian influence operations via US social networks are driving and sustaining this, and it's increasingly supported by the regime in Washington. 1/2

Le Pen has no interest in attacking Melenchon for the riots across France as she knows she would beat him easily 67-33 in a Round Two matchup. Her interest is served by pinning the blame on President Macron and by ricochet, the centrist candidates, such as the former PM, Edouard Philippe

It's crazy that Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, YouTube, Substack, etc. are allowed to operate in Europe. Their owners and management have repeatedly proven their politically motivated credentials, and are instruments used by hostile regimes to interfere in our internal affairs.

I'd avoid Signal. Its reputation for security rests on years old court submissions - neither hard evidence nor currently applicable. Strong possibility that every Signal message is tapped on the server side. @threema.ch & @olvid.io are convenient alternatives, short of hosting a solution yourself.

Fair point. But I think recognition of the geopolitical inflection point (now just the latest of many) can also have value, and may be a factor in a decision to take real action to protect Ukraine, such as the mooted European Sky Shield.

The far left La France Insoumise is as dangerous as the far right Rassemblement National given its support for imperialist Russian aggression and inexplicable hatred of Ukraine. Ironically, a vote for Mélenchon on 18 April makes a Le Pen victory more likely on 2 May.

Hopefully those Europeans cheerleading that Graham Memorial Bill now have a bit of buyer‘s remorse. All it did was to endow Trump with another tool to justify tariffs when he feels like imposing them. For Trump, it has zero to do with supporting 🇺🇦. Quite the opposite seems true.

The EU doesn't really exist when adversaries resort to cross-domain coercion. The Commission's trade competence is meaningless if negotiation spills into defence matters, etc. Then, it's just a collection of small or medium sized countries. Drop the veto, however, and that no longer applies.

Ukraine supposedly already uses Eutelsat OneWeb, but it's not a complete substitute for Starlink yet. The prospect of Ukraine suddenly being cut off worries me. Ripping off the band-aid would mean Ukraine at least controls the timing. Neither Musk nor the regime in Washington can be trusted.
