excerpt of Pandora's Vox by humdog

i have seen many people spill their guts on–line, and i did so myself until, at last, i began to see that i had commodified myself. commodification means that you turn something into a product which has a money–value. in the nineteenth century, commodities were made in factories, which karl marx called 'the means of production.' capitalists were people who owned the means of production, and the commodities were made by workers who were mostly exploited. i created my interior thoughts as a means of production for the corporation that owned the board i was posting to, and that commodity was being sold to other commodity/consumer entities as entertainment. that means that i sold my soul like a tennis shoe and i derived no profit from the sale of my soul. people who post frequently on boards appear to know that they are factory equipment and tennis shoes, and sometimes trade sends and email about how their contributions are not appreciated by management.

a figure (?) is putting a finger in the air and singing "take it away, boys"

"minky momo's counterattack", says the title, as famous haman karn lookalike minky momo stands atop a gaza-c

a rabbit daydreams about doing a yukio mishima

"i'm going to defect", says a figure from behind a little cubbyhole door. "what?", replies his interlocutor, shocked.

Big language learning milestone: I remember watching this video when I was first starting out with Japanese and feeling like there was noooo way I'd hit 600 days straight like he did. Today is day 600 for me.

LivAkivi's YouTube video "I learned Japanese 1 hour a day for 600 days straight"

Riley's language learning chart, she has a 600 day streak.

It's sooo funny playing Fable II, one of the first voices you hear in the game is James Corden in his one and only video game role. It's like getting flashbanged.

DIAGNOSIS IS LEARNING THE GAME IS ON HARD MODE 👏

A screenshot of a tweet/post by @artistAuDH
Undiagnosed neurodivergence is like
being handed a video game that has
been set to hard mode, but having
people tell you over and over "it's on
easy, why do you keep dying? "
Diagnosis is learning the game is on
hard mode. It doesn't make it easier,
but you can strategize.

polyamory is relationship neoliberalism
Neoliberal capitalism is always looking for new markets to expand into. Monogamous relationships are closed markets, while polyamory reopens these markets such that everyone in the relationship directly competes for scarce resources (dating pool) and can take unlimited action in their own self interest. Truly devastating feelings of heartbreak and jealousy are used as the "shocks" necessary to procure submission to polyamorous norms, as described by Naomi Klein in "the shock doctrine".

Hello! This is a very interesting point you are bringing up.. Can you elaborate on what is the shock technique and how jealousy is used as a shock? Thanks a lot!

Reply - Critical_Anywhere864 (OP) 1y ago
I mean it's probably used as a shock IDK I don't have polyamorous relationships

It's incredibly bizarre how much video game journalism is 1/3rd actual reporting and then 2/3rds marketing-done-by-a-third-party. Where previews and trailer reveals are meted out to large publications like IGN, where their primary purpose is just another form of advertising.
