Restorative justice is about centering the victim and preventing further harm. JG acknowledged that he was barely punished. He then went on to make a lot of money being professionally popular thanks to doors that wouldn't have opened if he had been punished initially. This really ain't complicated.

You're not progressive to appropriate the language of restorative justice to rationalize your ambivalence. Either JG being a rapist is disqualifying for you or not. If you were comfortable with your conclusion and what that says about you, I don't think you would be publicly arguing about it.

Finding out someone you admired wasn't who you thought they were is painful. I understand the impulse to retreat into cynicism when it happens. However, it hurts because you cared about someone. Going through life being afraid to invest in other people sounds pretty lonely.
