We discussed this subject this morning as well, with some figures of actually how busy it is - but just with pedestrians and cyclists instead of vehicles. We have a sensor there showing over 12,000 commutes daily over the bridge. Not closed at all telraam.net/en/location/...
Bar chart showing daily total traffic counts for pedestrians and cyclists on Castelnau, south of Hammersmith Bridge. The total of these categories alone is 12,000 on average per dayGraph of average volume of users of Castelnau, just south of Hammersmith Bridge per hour of the day. The peaks at 8am and 5pm show that this is an active commuting route, not simply used by local residents, but a route for users across South and West London

Sticking tech into a Jaguar iPace (like Waymo) is really not the advance we think it is. Maybe when their autonomous vehicles are just the size of the person in them, and limited to 30mph, they could have a future in cities.

Cycling home Motorist squeezes between me and the curb within 'smack the window' distance. In a hurry to endanger my life, but plenty of time to stop, get out and berate me. "Don't get in front of me again, or I'll knock you off" he shouts. 1 motorist in 100 on my commute. Disproportionate impact.
