The Phantom of Heilbronn, also referred to as the Woman Without a Face, was a presumed female serial killer whose existence was inferred from DNA evidence found at 40 crime scenes across Austria, France and Germany from 1993 to 2009.

In March 2009, investigators concluded that the supposed serial killer did not exist, and the DNA belonged to a woman who worked at a factory that made the cotton swabs used for collecting DNA samples

1. #MedievalSky, grab a lifejacket and a seasickness bag, we’re casting off on a thread about the Norman invasion fleet in 1066! 960 years ago, the Normans landed at Pevensey and established a base at the Roman shore fort which was already succumbing to erosion from the sea on its south side. 1/20

Not everyone is a pro artist, but having a go to record history is always important! This charmingly drawn image is a recording of a find of a Medieval crucifix figure dug out of the foundation of an Old Wall in the Town of Brighthelmstone (now Brighton) near a place called the Mockbeggars in 1771.
The drawing shows a figure of Christ crucified, evidently once attached to a crucifix. The drawing suggests the skill of the artist wasn't too advanced.

The Egyptian goose (Alopochen aegyptiaca) is a member of the Anatidae family native to Sub-Saharan Africa and the Nile valley. It inhabits open or semi-open habitats, typically near fresh water, and feeds on cereal crops, leaves, grasses, and occasionally small animals. Adults measure 63–73 cm (25–29 in) in length. Introduced populations are established in parts of Europe and the United States, and the species can sometimes become invasive. Egyptian geese form long-term pairs, with both parents caring for their young, and can be highly territorial when breeding. It is classified as a least-concern species by the IUCN. This Egyptian goose adult with goslings was photographed in Bürgerpark, Bremen, Germany. Type: photograph. Credits: Charles J. Sharp.
