Earlier in the game, a Blue Jays fan threw a beer can at Orioles outfielder Hyun Soo Kim. Adam Jones was incensed, and so was manager Buck Showalter. Buck spent the whole middle of the inning in the outfield raging (rightly) by the fence. I’d never seen anything like that ever or since.

I was in the 500s, possibly the farthest away possible from the action. During the home run, I couldn’t see the ball Encarnación had just hit, so I watched the outfielder (outfielders are usually the first to know it’s a home run) and my mind exploded.

Nuit Blanche, motherfucker.
Toronto’s City Hall, at night, seen from the back after having gone up the ramp. It looks like a flying saucer landed and tried to play it cool by making it seem like it was supposed to be there. An illuminated balloon in the middle of Toronto’s Nathan Phillips Square, at night, with buildings in the background.

Would you consider labelling yourself with @pronounsinb.io? I don’t profess to fully understand Bluesky labellers, but I think all you have to do is “like” the post with your pronouns, and it means your pronouns show up below your name on each post.

Are Toronto's bike lanes really empty? Charlie Buckley hit the streets to count cyclists, dug into city data, and compared the numbers with major cycling cities around the world.

I’m not sure I want to simulate a thing that I never want to do in real life again (i.e. drive a car), but I can understand the appeal of doing the virtual equivalent of a normal thing where I won’t potentially kill a real person.

There’s some crazy shit in the Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms. For example: “Everyone has the right to life, liberty and security of the person and the right not to be deprived thereof except in accordance with the principles of fundamental justice.” 🤯

I recommend that all Canadians read the Charter of Rights and Freedoms on a yearly basis. It’s brief! It almost, but not quite, fits in the palm of my hand.
A small copy of the Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms, held in a man’s hand, in front of a print of a painting of a wintry Toronto streetcar scene by Amy Walsh-Harris.

Courtenay is my hometown, and I’ve taken the E&N a few times in my lifetime (once when a vehicle collided with it!). I thought I had a photo of it from when I was there a few weeks ago, but the parking lot of the station in Courtenay is now a U-Haul storage area. The building is still there.

Don’t even spend energy thinking that anybody thinks it’s a good idea. 100% consensus is not a thing. Find solace that separation is dead on arrival.

I struggled with the wording of this one, because there are 10 questions. I encourage you to read them, if for the fact that there are 10 questions. Separation is deeply unpopular there, so don’t spend a lot of energy worrying about that.

I only have interesting tabs left. A lot of them are waiting on me to do something else, so they should be in my task manager instead. Which is where to-do items go to die, but I’ll feel a lot better about never doing a thing than have a browser tab remind me that I’ll never do that thing than.

Richard Terroriksson @richard.eriksson.ca · 19/09/2026
Yeah, I believe in browser tab sustainability, but I also believe in knowledge not dying. You can see how I’m torn!

Regarding a password manager replacement, I’m on board with switching away, but I have to do it slowly. (I get the disgraced app’s family plan free through work.). I’ve also lost confidence in my web hosting provider (same reason), so I’ll need to move off of it. Slowly and deliberately as well.

Richard Terroriksson @richard.eriksson.ca · 19/09/2026
I’m back at it this morning! My evening plans for tonight just fell through, so I have the whole day to close browser tabs. Which is good, because the tabs left to close are very resilient.
