I’d prefer not to see that pivot again. I didn’t think Tonali was what we needed this summer albeit I think he’s good. For me he’s a marginal Bentancur upgrade. To see them playing *together* is annoying. Neither of them passes the ball exceptionally. Get Fernandes in there (who does).

From the BBC player ratings- this idea that Tonali is still building his fitness- if I were a Spurs fan, I'd be asking what he's been doing all summer. No WC, signed fairly early in the summer.

Sandro Tonali: A shaky start as he came up against his former club for the first time. Clearly still building up fitness. At fault in build up to both goals. Ironically cheered by away fans as he came off. 4
