I got this finished up! :) It was done with watercolors, gouache, acrylic ink and walnut ink.

Every time i see a tracing discourse fly by i always think of how most of Mucha's work, especially the commercial posters, are obviously traced thru a grid method from photographs he took. This has been the industry standard for hundreds of years, before photography they'd use camera obsura...

One of my favourite paintings, 'A Seated Woman Looking at a Child Through a Window', a ghostly 17th century work by the enigmatic Jacobus Vrel. Next to nothing is known about the artist, did he even exist? More than enough room for a Schalcken the Painter style BBC Ghost Story, I would've thought..!

The Churchyard's Watchful Protector

In a snow-covered churchyard in front of a large gothic church, a large black dog with glowing eyes sits among the graves. The graves are weathered and covered in lichens, and capped with snow.
