🚨 SPEAKER ALERT!

The Lancet. www.mo.be/nieuws/hitte...

Discovered @pagebound.bsky.social earlier this week, an indie and anti-AI social book tracker. I have been testing some goodread alternatives for a while now and always ended up returning... Hoping this one will do the trick! 🦄
pagebound is a book / reading tracker platform. The screenshot shows a colourful profile and a cute unicorn avatar, a list showing the covers of the books I like to read:
- the storyteller by Evie Woods
- Vera Wong's unsollicited advice for murderers by Jessie Q. Sutanto
- How to solve your own murder by Kristen Perrin
- The colour of magic by Terry Pratchett
- A court of mist and fury by Sarah J. Maas

And a list showing the covers of what I'm currently reading:
- As good as dead by Holly Jackson
- The Morrigan by Kim Curan

Author and filmmaker Justine Bateman on generative AI
"They're trying to convince people they can't do the things they've been doing easily for years - to write emails, to write a presentation. Your daughter wants you to make up a bedtime story about puppies - to write that for you." We will get to the point, she says with a grim laugh, "that you will essentially become just a skin bag of organs and bones, nothing else. You won't know anything and you will be told repeatedly that you can't do it, which is the opposite of what life has to offer. Capitulating all kinds of decisions like where to go on vacation, what to wear today, who to date, what to eat.
People are already doing this. You won't have to process grief, because you'll have uploaded photos and voice messages from your mother who just died, and then she can talk to you via AI video call every day. One of the ways it's going to destroy humans, long before there's a nuclear disaster, is going to be the emotional hollowing-out of people." - author and filmmaker Justine Bateman from a piece by Emine Saner for the Guardian

Another Sunday well spent 🥰 🥾🌳 #autumhike
A wide forest path covered in brown and yellow leaves. The sun gently shining through the trees. Blue skies can be seen in the distant through the trees that are slowly losing their foliage. A puddle of water under a tree in a green meadow, the water reflects the blue sky and wide clouds.
In a distance you can see the treeline of a forest. Moorland under a blue but cloudy sky, with birch trees and other plants spread out over the distance. A blue but cloudy sky over moorland, with different kinds if trees covered in autumn colours on the edges of the land.

Street art in Waterford 🇮🇪
Streetart on a wall in Waterford: A wall in a small street that has a colourful hare in running motion painted on it. Streetart in Waterford: a corner building with a realistic mural depicting a street artist busy painting walls. Streetart in Waterford: a corner building painted in a dark base coulour with leafy white silhouettes and shades of pink and purple on it. The building has a coffee shop on the ground floor and there’s a tree and small terrace area in the front. Streetart in Waterford: the face of a young woman painted on the side of a building. Flower petals are embedded in her face and the whole artwork is made of shades of a blueish violet.

A little photodump of Dublin. Been chillin a bit with Ada, contemplating what to do about this hole that’s left after deciding to stop all women.code(be) community activities…
A bust of Ada Lovelace at the old Trinity college library. A bust of Socrates at the old Trinity college library. The bust placed next to dark wooden shelves filled with pretty old books. The famous Temple Bar pub in Dublin with its lower wall painted red, black wall length signage with painted golden letters and white upper walls. The windows have planters with flowers and a classic analog clock his hanging on one side of the building.

The surrounding streets are paved with cobblestone. A big stone archway entrance at Stephen’s Green park in Dublin.

I love autumn hikes in the suncovered woods! ❤️ 🍄 These are taken with my DSLR - still very much an amateur though - in manual and macro mode. Some of them took some serious acrobatics in order to get a nice shot and not to disturb the surrounding flora. 🤸‍♀️ 📸 😅
A closeup of a moss-covered, hollowed-out, dark brown, almost blackened tree trunk, filled with fallen browned leaves and tiny yellow fungi growing on it's inner sides. The fungi type is unknown.A very tiny Fly Agaric (Amanita muscaria) with it's bright red and white-spotted hood, resting on a white stem, standing out on the moss and leaf covered forest grounds.A forest path surrounded by shrubs and green trees bathing in the autumn sun. The forest is lined with deciduous trees, currently still green but soon to be shedding their leaves until a colourful spectacle of yellow, brown and red covers the forest path.A teeny tiny bright "Yellow Stagshorn" fungus (Calocera viscosa) - the fallen browned leaf next to it shows how tiny it really is.
This picture depicts 4 yellow fungus stems that branch out in a corallike way, resembling tiny staghorns. Surrounding the yellow staghorn is moss and leaf covered forest ground. A tiny purple fungi (type unknown) is also captured out of focus in the foreground.

Bruxelles, ma belle. Spend time catching up with a good friend today, wandering the streets and spotting some Invader pieces. Also, lunch was nice! Crispy, fried, wantans 🤤
A wall mosaic depicting 2 smurfs in love by showing a little heart between them and the word “love”.

Smurfs are little blue cartoon characters that live in mushroom houses. The comic originates from Belgium. On the corner of brewery street there are 2 mosaic beer classes, much like the emoji 🍻, right above the street sign. If you don’t like pics of nature, now’s the time to unfollow 😄 I go on hikes almost every day and love to share more of the gorgeous scenery I’m running into.
Autumn - the sun shining through the trees, making the leaves look bright yellow and green. The ground covered with falling leaves and there’s a glimpse of a clearing in the nearby distance.A closeup of green grass, clover, moss and browned leaves with a tiny reddish toadstool popping up. Everything covered with the morning dew. Green fields with fallen leaves, from the nearby forest. All bathing in the midday sun and a blue sky with the tiniest white clouds floating by. A view of a very bright sun surrounded by a white stream of clouds. The trees are covered in shadow due to the contrast if bright light. And little grass leaves can be spotted in the ground with fallen leaves sticking out here and there.

Waiting for a friend to join me on my morning hike. 🥰
A green field with visible tree line, a nearby forest and road. The sky is somewhat blue with clouds floating by. And the tiniest glow of the morning sun on some of the trees. A house bathing in the sun, a street with trees alongside it and a blue sky with cloudsSome kind of mushroom cluster next to a field. The mushrooms have a light grey hood and white stem. It doesn’t seem to have ink tho.
