Moles are commonly deemed as pests, and are often killed by pest controllers, including those employed by local councils in the UK. The animal only has the most basic protection under UK law.

Three years ago tonight, I was in the presence of the most remarkable supercell thunderstorm that I have ever had the privilege of witnessing. For over an hour, I watched it dance beneath the starts, spinning like a top. Mother nature will never cease to amaze, inspire, and humble me.
