Lately a lot of AI "discourse" has been going around in the Pokemon romhacking community. For a bit, things seemed to be on the right track, but it was instantly backpedaled which really disappointed me. Anyways Too Many Productions has never, and will never use AI for our projects. I hate AI.

And I get the same vibe from AI proponents; They simply don't understand art, and think it's beneath them. They don't understand the appeal, they come from a techbro mindset and think art is a solved equation and anything that isn't photorealistic or extremely high detail is failing at the goal.

The cluelessness of this reminds me a lot of the NFT grift. The thing about NFTs was that it was mainly something finance bros were into, and when they were trying to worm their way into gaming, their pitches were an abyssal trench of bad ideas because they couldn't grasp why people played games.

It didn’t make me feel good either when he stated that he vibe-coded a program to check for peaks in my tracks. MY MUSIC, THROUGH AN AI CODED PROGRAM. We already have plugins and free online tools that we’ve been using for YEARS to do this task! It just didn't make sense to me.

Many games for the GameCube use only a fraction of the storage capacity of the disc. I have analyzed the data to determine what the maximum number of retail Mario games that can fit on a single disc would be, creating the Luigi & Wario + Puzzle + Rhythm Maximum Value Pack.

$A GameCube disc has a storage capacity of 1.46 gigabytes. Many Mario games use only a fraction of that storage. Below is the optimal distribution of the smallest Mario-related games on the system to fit 6 entire retail games on a single disc. and yes, before anyone asks, I am absolutely familiar with Pascal Jousselin's Mr. Invincible (as it's called in English)! As good as I thought it was when I just seen a few pages online, when it finally came out in english, I was shocked how relentlessly creative he was page after page - so good!

Cover to Mr. Invincible, and interior page - in which using his powers to see the layout of the page, mr. invincible rescues a cat in a tree not by climbing the tree, but by reaching down to the panel below him and grabbing it that way. It's pretty fun - and only in comics!
