RFK is personally responsible for a measles outbreak killing American kids. Stephen Miller has killed more undocumented people than we will know until his tribunal. Pete Hegseth is nerfing anyone in a skiff within 95 miles of Cuba. They get away with it because they are committed to the performance.

dc statehood is non-negotiable after trump's actions in his second term. republicans despise the people of the city that hosts them, and there is little reason to think that, now that the seal is broken on treating them as an occupied population, a next republican president will be more restrained

Trump's suit appears to be part of Jos. A. Bank's Traveler line. The suit is listed as having been made abroad using a wool-polyester-spandex blend. The company describes it as having the "ultimate stretch" and was designed to minimize body odor.
Trump wearing a blue suit on stage. He is flashing his jacket open, such that you can see the interior labels. One label says Jos. A. Bank. A product shot from Jos. A. Bank's website. impressed by the number of romance authors, reviewers, and readers interviewed in this article! my own view is that this is a fun thing to chat about, but there will never be a useful scale because what people find hot is so personal. you're just gonna have to use words to describe it

Here’s the most incredible story you’ll read today. A small plane with four people aboard crashes in a field. Another pilot witnesses it. That pilot happens to be flying a bunch of skydivers. They offer to jump to assist, are given permission. The skydivers happen to be EMTs. Everyone survives.

"This election is about the threat of trans kids" is the worst possible messaging for Dems yet so many candidates are leaning into it. No voter will flip R->D over it. Low-info voters read this as "you're focused on bullshit that doesn't affect me" while the base reads this as "you're an asshole."

So Think, Write, Edit, Romance has a lot about prose and a whole section on self-editing. In a moment of wild surmise, I asked the literal Final Boss copyeditor if he'd take a look at it. (When I said I was taking a punt on blurbs...) And he did, and this is some of what @bcdreyer.social said.
Flyer for Think Write Edit Romance. Quote: “...she offers up here the sort of expert advice on the nuts and bolts of prose, from punctuation to grammar, that makes my copyeditorial heart sing. And if that weren't enough, she does it all engagingly and wittily. I can't imagine a writer, of romance or of anything else, who won't find much that's invaluable in these pages.” --—Benjamin Dreyer, New York Times bestselling author of Dreyer's English and former Random House copy chief. satin ribbons

After unexpectedly winning her first blue ribbon for a sewn cape in 1981, Carol St. Clair Johnson developed an enduring love for the New Mexico State Fair. The quilt Fair New Mexico-41 Fair Years incorporates more than six hundred of the ribbons she won at the fair every subsequent year except 2020 (when the fair was canceled because of the COVID-19 pandemic). Johnson earned ribbons for needlework, knitting, crochet, pies, cookies, cakes, canning, jewelry, flowers, vegetables, and potted plants. The title of the quilt is a reference to the state song, and the design places the state's Zia sun symbol at the center. The quilt earned Johnson yet another ribbon: Best in Category (miscellaneous quilt) at the 2023 New Mexico State Fair.
