It's #MLBPlayerRespect time for the #CLEvsTEX series. This one's easy: Michael Lorenzen. Shohei Ohtani he ain't, but Lorenzen is a legit MLB SP who can also serve as a bench outfielder if you want him to. He's played 34 MLB games as an OF, been used as a PH 29 times. I love versatile ballplayers.

I have a friend, @tomchansky.bsky.social , who is of the opinion that 1994 is the best year in rock history. I'm a 1977 guy myself (Clash, Pistols, Marquee Moon, In The City, My Aim is True, Lust for Life, Blank Generation, Dead Boys, two Bowie albums, Pink Flag, Rumours) but '94 is damn good too.

I forgot to make my #MLBPlayerRespect post for the #CLEvsCWS series. It's Erick Fedde. I can't help but admire when a high draft pick who's struggled in the majors goes overseas and figures it out instead of sulking or quitting. Fedde dominated the KBO in '23 and has looked good so far in '24.

Having forgotten the #LAAvsCLE series is over, I've got a replacement #MLBPlayerRespect choice for #DETvsCLE. Mark Canha. Never really celebrated; just gets on base, plays four positions, and hits 20 HR/162 games. Can even play 3B in a pinch. Got hit by 55 pitches in '21-'22. That's a team guy.

Yeah, for sure. I remember what happened to WOXY and always sort of thought WWCD was always on borrowed time as a streaming-only concern. I know Randy Malloy loved the station dearly and would have done just about anything to keep it alive if he could. Alas, not everyone can be KEXP or WFMU.

Hunter Gaddis as a starting pitcher: 7.68 ERA, 11 home runs and 33 runs allowed in 38.2 IP. Hunter Gaddis as a relief pitcher: 1.21 ERA, 2 home runs and 3 runs allowed in 22.1 IP. I've never been happier to be wrong about a guy. Gaddis as a starter was horrific, but he's found his role.
