In addition to these, the city has these cuts up too. To end transit after 10pm is straight up dangerous. No transit on Sundays? Increase taxes on non profits lol what about all the car dealerships?? The detrimental effects on the reduction of snow clearing for people w/ disabilities & the elderly..

- Eliminate free transit for volunteers at events ($144,500)
- Permanently reduce the Alderney Ferry to 30 minute service ($1,222, 100)
- Cancel the lowest performing bus routes ($4,023,000)
- Eliminate Sunday and Holiday service ($5,786,800)
- Eliminate transit service after 10:00 pm (S5,093,300)

Parks
- Reduce Affordable Access Grant funding from 100% of program fees to 95% ($150,000)

Public Works
- Increase the standard for clearing bus stops from 24 to 48 hours ($750,000).
- Eliminate sidewalk snow clearing in residential neighbourhoods and hand that responsibility back to adjacent property owners ($8,000,000).
- Eliminate curbside collection of bulky items, i.e. you would have to drive your old couch to Otter Lake yourself ($333,000).

The price for the 88 fighter jets since 2023 has went from $19 billion to at least $27.7 billion and could go as high as $33.2 billion.

88 water bomber planes at ~$40 million each would be about $3.6 billion.

F-35 jets/other fighter jets and the bombs they drop terrorize our planet, destroying environments and contribute heavily to climate change.

They are also deployed to commit genocide in Palestine, and to other 'war zones' to assert western imperialism.

We can't be silent about these parallels.

To increase our percentage of GDP from 2% to 5% on 'defense'/military spending for NATO is murder to us all and our planet. I was reminded at a rally to ask - why are we seeing the increasing cuts to public services at the same time?

What the government prioritizes, tells us everything when we pay attention and listen to marginalized communities.

If city council/planners actually planned for affordability, they’d ban mansions, not apartments. They’d have lot size maximums, not lot size minimums. They’d have higher fees per sq ft of mansion, not apartments. They’d charge the rich in mansions more, not everyone else in apartments.
