#BlueSkyArtShow #Walls "Sky Dance" celebrates 3 top soloist #ballerinas in mid-leap in a msg of joy & female empowerment on a 30000 sq ft wall. (More fun nerdy details in AltTxt) #ECK #ColorADay #UrbanGaze #StreetPhotography #Photography #Photographers #Skyscrapers #Architecture #Murals #StreetArt
The mural was created by C. Finley. Google has such fun (nerdy details) that I will let them explain:

Finley is "an internationally acclaimed visual artist renowned for her elaborate geometric paintings, vivid use of color, and street art activism."

Finley was commissioned by the WEDGE Group, an investment firm that owned the building.

She began by mapping out the colossal project "using a powerful 6,000-lumen projector from the fifth floor of an adjacent parking garage to trace the initial outlines onto the wall at night. She then executed the painting alongside a specialized crew of commercial window washers utilizing hydraulic boom lifts, using roughly 80 to 100 gallons of paint."

The three colorful, soaring figures leaping across the blue canvas are not abstract shapes—they are directly modeled after three real-life, professional dancers from the Houston Ballet:

• Mónica Gómez (Soloist)
• Nozomi Iijima (First Soloist)
• Allison Miller (First Soloist)

The figures are depicted mid-flight performing a jeté en avant (a classic grand ballet leap), seamlessly blending athletic power with high grace.

Finley designed the mural to evoke themes of joy, empowerment, and femininity, transforming a cold corporate landscape into a vibrant tribute to Houston's arts and culture."

Visually, this is a low-angle, upwards-looking, vertical photo captures a vibrant, multi-story mural of three colorful, stylized dancers in mid-leap against a brilliant blue, tiled backdrop, contrasting sharply with the warm, rust-terracotta-orange skyscraper rising steeply behind it. The architectural lines of the modern tower form a dramatic grid of rows and columns that converge as they stretch toward a bright sky dotted with wispy white clouds. The intense, high-contrast lighting accentuates the vivid blues, reds, and yellows of the mural's figures while deepening the shadows along the building's structural panels, emphasizing both the dynamic artistic energy of the foreground and the rigid…
