Trump's opponents cannot simply wave away that existence; this does not mean he is more popular than he appears to be, but it does mean that he has support that is genuine, committed, and non-artificial, and there is no easy answer to that problem other than denying them power through politics

our opponents had a core of players who did not belong in c-league and played like assholes. who went quickly up 4-0 and brayed for more. except then we somehow cut it to 4-2. i was in goal the whole game eating shit for the team. i had very little chance on any of them…

to be clear, full credit to seattle for game planning them well—start physical to knock them off kilter (surprising more teams don’t catch on to that, it has worked since the heaps era), and trust your defense. different game if #nerevs have more attacking bite before the half though.

i got caught upfield for one after recycling the ball for a chance turned into a jailbreak. unlucky. some really tidy passing, a few fuckups under pressure. three good shots on goal. should have scored or assisted on the last. oh well. we won 5-4 and the cold weather speed is here.

went up 3-0, then down 4-3, against a team that was dramatically younger and faster than us. a couple of those were cannon shots from distance, one was an impossible angle. whatever. but we cleaned it up, and resumed pressuring them in the midfield and it paid off.

one of the underrated joys of riding the seaport daily is getting to interact with 18 wheelers in the city. today i nearly interacted with one head-on because either they didn't see me as they hurled into their left turn, or they did see me and couldn't waste $9 diesel by lightly tapping the brake.
