#gameofwool the right person won big knitter and I guess it's also confirmation that whoever's work Di cries at, is winning that week

#gameofwool how is Dipti not at risk? Her swimsuit looked the least comfortable of all and she made the worst ranked deckchair with Stephanie!

#gameofwool Holger and Isaac's was the only one done mostly in the recommended stitch, it was great crochet work, they just overestimated how much fabric was needed.

It seems they're only using yarns made by Rowan, We are knitters and Sirdar (all owned by the same mega-company)

#gameofwool if they keep saying hookers instead of crocheters I'm gonna send in a letter of complaint, as a crocheter I don't find it funny and I doubt any sex workers do either

One of the leading causes of harm and death in maternity care on the NHS is actually racism. But Suzanne Moore has a history of anti-"woke" bullshit targeting ethnically marginalised people so she'd hate if you actually looked it up. www.bbc.co.uk/news/health-... www.bbc.co.uk/news/health-...

Blaming trans people just draws focus away from the real, very serious, issues which are contributing to many preventable deaths and other negative health outcomes. Lack of funding for the NHS. Lack of support for people to train in midwifery. Lack of options for people giving birth.

I can think of so many things which have contributed to the overall decline in quality of healthcare, and worsened health outcomes, particularly in relation to pregnancy. Most of those things are attributable to the 14 years of Tory rule, and have barely been addressed by the Labour government.

HBO has declined to renew “Sesame Street” for new episodes. The series that’s been teaching generations of little kids since 1969 now has no studio. Please consider donating to Sesame Workshop to ensure the residents of 123 Sesame Street are still around to teach kids of all needs and backgrounds.

I think it's important to understand that the rhetoric around transmasculine people re. irreversible damage etc. is less of actual sympathy or concern for the trans person themselves, and more addressed to the Patriarch: "Look at what transgender ideology is doing to Your Property".

Wear a good quality mask this time of year and don’t take it off. The average person isn’t thinking about how their actions will affect others, unfortunately. If they’re feeling slightly under the weather, they won’t consider how or that they’re transmitting something that’s contagious. 1/

Telling people my research interests makes me feel like what Piers Morgan would come up with as a parody of humanities studies. I'm doing a dissertation about 17th century English women's orgasms, and hopefully writing a paper on transgender existence/erasure in cultural heritage.

I love Little Shop of Horrors it is my absolute FAVOURITE musical. I love the movie version, the practical effects are absolutely incredible. I have only seen it on stage once but I hope to see it many times. I see Audrey and Seymour as a T4T couple and I love them so much.

The best part is that Alan Menken’s dad was the head of the group that advocated for the use of anesthetics in dentistry. He tells a pretty great story about it in the NPR Tiny Desk concert they did for the show: youtu.be/ymqKPz5kRXE?...

Diary of a Disabled Person @wheelerdax.bsky.social · 04/12/2024
An entire episode of Channel 4's Dispatches was dedicated to inciting hatred of disabled people, blaming us for the UK's problems. It can be summed up with a single, well-known image.
A black man in a manual wheelchair, a white builder, and a white businessman sit around a table. The black man has no cookies, the builder has one, and the businessman has a huge pile of them. Speech bubble coming from the businessman, who is pointing to the black man, reads "careful mate, that disabled person wants your cookie".

It was only 4 years ago disabled ppl with Covid were being put on DNR requests in hospitals without consent. It’s only 4 years ago, Covid treatment was rationed based on who needed less treatment due to lack of planning and equipment. This country isn’t responsible enough for assisted dying

The liberals self-congratulating re. how polite the assisted suicide debate was are the worst. Disabled people are worried they are going to be murdered, but hey, as long as the ✨ aesthetics ✨ are ok. "It's just my *personal opinion* that it's better to be dead than disabled. Let's keep it civil."

You are all more terrified of an imaginary future version of yourself who is disabled than the murder of disabled people who are fighting desperately to survive in a world which wants us dead.

There are "safeguards" against giving people DNRs as well. Didn't stop them being used to murder intellectually disabled people just a couple of years ago.

This cannot be stressed enough. Policing trans women’s bodies & movement thru society necessitates policing cis women’s as well. Policing who & how “woman” is to be defined for these purposes means enforcing strict visible social codes & identities on all women. And so much more.

Important to keep in mind when establishing boundaries on here. Unfortunately there are shitty ppl (yes even autistic ones) who will do this in bad faith BUT unless you have evidence to suggest this is what the other person is doing, pls me mindful that it might just be a communication difference 🙏

I’m getting tired of all of this narrative. You look after yourself when you’re looked after by others & when you’re not struggling with poverty, social isolation & discrimination. The state has a pivotal role in preparing the soil. Whether that’s NHS or beyond. www.thetimes.com/uk/politics/...

The first thing I noticed was eczema, suddenly in patches all over for no apparent reason. I'm fairly sure I was experiencing fatigue and PEM at the same time but between poor interoception and lack of mental health support, I put it down to poor mental health.

It's very difficult finding meals/recipes which don't use too much of my energy, but are still fulfilling. I enjoy cooking, and find it's the best way to make sure food is texturally "correct" for me, which would be a good thing but add PEM to the mix and it's a real struggle!

The only symptom that was clearly and definitely caused by covid infection was eczema, in patches all over my body. Eczema is not a commonly recognised condition under the umbrella of Long Covid, but so many people develop it, or have it much worse, after a COVID infection they think was 'mild'.

Rowan @rbtree42.bsky.social · 17/11/2024
For me, the fatigue (and PEM) wasn't obvious at first, but it gradually got worse and worse. I put the cognitive issues down to my (then unmedicated) ADHD. I blamed myself for the worsening joint pain, because I was exercising less (because of the unrecognised fatigue).
