If you heard there was an indie game called spells and shells what assumptions would you make about the game from the title alone?

you will encounter more opportunities in life to change the batteries on a smoke alarm than you will to run into a burning building and no one gives a shit you changed those batteries but it is still very important and why are you waiting on a burning building, know what i’m saying, it’s a metaphor

i worry that men think being A Good Guy is dramatically and heroically intervening on behalf of an endangered woman and then being publicly rewarded on a grand scale when actually being A Good Guy is just usually saying, “hey man that’s not funny” or “wow that’s fucked up” and there is no reward

We need a constant drum beat for UNIVERSAL basic income that only gets louder and louder. Consider taking a moment each day to post at least one thing about the need for UBI, or to repost what others have posted. I do this every day. You can use my timeline as a quality filter to save time. ✊️

I truly, deeply, sincerely do think the guy flipping burgers at McDonalds should be able to afford his basic needs like groceries with his basic income alone and that his job should pay for all the fun stuff because that's the point of a job and I can't believe this is considered a radical position.

"Too many feelings" every time (about a book that's marketed as polyamorous and the lead is in a long-term relationship where they've both been putting off too many conversations) If you want to read the ebook and can't afford it, lmk and I'll see what I can do about a coupon.

I like this proposal to progressively tax high CEO-to-worker pay ratios. This is what every tax should consider—how it can shape behavior in a desired direction. I'll add that I think this should be paid in newly issued shares into a national UBI-paying fund that all corps should pay into annually.

If it exceeds 50-to-1, the corporation pays an additional 0.5% tax

If it exceeds 100-to-1, the corporation pays an additional 1% tax

If more than 200-to-1, a 2% tax

If more than 300-to-1, a 3% tax

If more than 400-to-1, a 4% tax

If more than 500-to-1, a 5% tax

Bertine is spitting nothing but undiluted truth, here. Ultimately, if you've worked on a game (especially when you have proof), you're totally within your rights to say you have. Accreditation is games can be based on asinine, random and often petty factors. Your experience counts.

One of the greatest acts of violence is the perpetuation of the myth that society must be constructed in such a way that some benefit and others suffer. There is no zero-sum game. Society can and ought to be constructed for the mutual benefit of all. Aim to build that reality.

Game idea: act one is a kingdom/politics simulator you are hearing petitions and enacting edicts. Eventually if you piss off any group of people enough an assassin is sent after you. You find someone who is unable to save you but can make sure you come back. You come back possessing a random person

digital illustration of guinevere from knights of guinevere. she is the head and torso of a doll with an empty expression and messy shaved blue hair. she is laying in a bunch of pale periwinkle irises, in a pointed frame, with bunches by either side of her head. There's bright blue viney guts coming out of the bottom of her ribcage.
