In politics, people commonly refer to supporting the "lesser of two evils." I believe most Democratic nominees are actually good, not merely "lesser evils." Nonetheless, the phrase highlights an important truth. 65/x

To borrow a phrase, your vote isn't a love letter, it's a chess move. Voting for a candidate is sometimes primarily about voting against the other candidate in the race. 66/x

There are major account take-over problems happening right now on mastodon instances - all appearances are that the actor is using stolen passwords, probably from malware running on desktops. I've suspended hundreds of compromised accounts over the past 48 hours, but only two on mine. If you […]

Kind of swamped with reports right now. Some sort of #SpamBot has taken over a bunch of old accounts, some of which have been here since 2022. This isn't as simple as mass banning, as some of these are clearly legit accounts that have been compromised, but we are working through the backlog and […]

[CW: bigotry / USPol discourse] @karenattiah.bsky.social It's truly insane to me how, in so many circles, we aren't even allowed to acknowledge that these people are literally trying to kill or otherwise eliminate us from society, when they're literally given a pass to say stuff like that about us.
