The final novel by novelist/poet/short story writer D. H. Late bloomers, take heart. Although she was artistic in creating domestic pieces like embroidery, Anna Mary Robertson Moses, #botd in 1860, only took up painting when arthritis made needlework too painful. She was 76. The media dubbed her "Grandma Moses" and it stuck. She died at 101. #art

Gordon, #botd, was directing noirs when Edward Dmytryk gave his name to HUAC, sidelining him from Hollywood for nearly a decade until Ross Hunter brought him back to direct Pillow Talk, which kickstarted the iconic Day/Hudson pairing. Gordon directed more comedies afterward. #moviesky #filmsky
