This actually isn't that much outlandish, one of the interurbans I like back in Indiana actually operated Steam, Electric, and Diesel in that order! Having 2 4-4-0s for construction and early ops, before becoming your typical interurban, and finally dieselizing with 44 tonners before shutting down.

I would include it! But due to them being viewed as more of a competitor, there wouldn't be very much interchange occurring between the two railroads.

The reasoning behind the GTW being as detailed as it is is due to some HW traffic that is handled by the Trunk between points such as Kalamazoo and GR. Also, if a wreck or washout were to occur between Pentwater and Midland, rerouted traffic would operate via this corridor.

Also, per CSX guys on trainorders; apparently, everything east of Wellington was ripped up in 1988 to prevent BN from purchasing it and gaining its own access to Atlanta, which would have doomed CSX-BN joint intermodal operations. Which is fucking crazy if true???

lowkey disappeared from train bluesky for 2 weeks and then came back only to start getting depressed because I moved away from the best place on earth (northern indiana) only to miss the best thing ever (west lake corridor opening) and realize I took a beautiful and storied railroad for granted.

Updated South Shore Line future service concept as proposed by the Northwest Indiana RDA. The plan proposes two new lines and 12 new stations, as well as an extension to the Monon Corridor. This plan does not necessarily guarantee the NICTD will include all aspects in their 20 yr plan.
