jesus fucking christ
t took me a while to realise what the man sitting next to me on the train was doing. He was flicking through pictures of a little girl on his phone; zooming in on some, cropping the images. Hardly unusual, of course, except that on closer inspection the pictures were very clearly of the toddler sitting opposite us, playing with her parents. On a crowded train of people mostly staring obliviously at our own phones, a stranger had been covertly photographing that little girl over and over again. And if it hadn’t been for that very visible phone screen giving him away, he wouldn’t have been caught.

Mamdani rescinded every executive order issued by Eric Adams after Adams's indictment, but still the "New York Times" is focusing exclusively on two of those orders that had to do with Israel. There is someone singling out Israel here. And it isn't Zohran Mamdani.
"New York Times" headline: "Inside Mamdani’s Decision to Revoke Executive Orders That Backed Israel
Mr. Mamdani, a staunch critic of Israel and its treatment of Palestinians, knew he would not extend the orders, but he had to decide how and when he would rescind them."

You don’t have to want kids or even enjoy being around them. But it’s also worth unpacking why kids simply existing, learning, or having unmet needs reads as “annoying,” “unlikeable,” or “bad behavior.” This collective discomfort with noise, need, & vulnerability is why many ADULTS are struggling.

🚨 MISSING AUTISTIC TEEN🚨
Jeffrey Epps is a 15 year old non-verbal autistic boy.

He was last seen Monday, in Baldwin County, GA near Torrance Road / Coopers community, between Highway 49 and Gordon Highway.

He’s about 5′3″ and 135 lbs.

Autistic individuals have a higher risk of wandering or elopement. This is sadly common, even if families do everything right.

Once someone wanders, especially if non-verbal or unable to ask for help, the risk of serious harm goes up dramatically.

Here’s what you can do RIGHT NOW:
▪️Share this post. The more eyes, the better.

▪️If you live in or near Baldwin County, GA check any cameras, outbuildings, barns, sheds, vehicles, etc.

If you see someone matching his description in a car, shed, woods, or body of water: call 478-445-4891 (Baldwin County Sheriff’s Office) or 911.🚨 MISSING AUTISTIC TEEN🚨

Systems that cover up abuse through deception, coercion, or abuse of power mimic the perpetrator and re-victimize the victim. Many lives have been sacrificed on the altar of secrecy for the sake of the church or the mission.

A few lines from my poem, “I Wear My Father’s Sweater but Not My Mother’s Apron.” Something, unfortunately, many experience in high-control, patriarchal religions. There has so much CSA among conservative Anabaptist groups for generations. It stops with me. #BlueSkyArtShow #inside #poetry #abuse
A simple split pic of a warm beige background of a few strands of a plant hanging down that look like the ends have been cut. Poem portion on the right.

A few lines from my poem, “I Wear My Father’s Sweater but Not My Mother’s Apron.”

Now I stand before you.
You think I am one of you, but I hide a cravenness inside.
a hollowness in my bones an emptiness in my veins life sucked out by generations of abuse
Because, you see, although the men bear the sins of their fathers, the women?
well, the women bear the sins of the men
in silence.

Hi, I'm the ProPublica reporter who's been tracking an unusual stat: U.S. citizens grabbed by immigration agents. I did it because the government isn’t. This is what I found.
White words on a black background read:

50+
Immigration agents have the authority to detain whom they reasonably suspect are in the country illegally. We found more than 50 Americans who were held after agents questioned their citizenship. They were almost all Latino.

~130
Agents also can arrest citizens who allegedly interfered with or assaulted officers. We compiled cases of about 130 Americans, including a dozen elected officials, accused of assaulting or impeding officers.

~20
Among the citizens detained are nearly 20 children, including two with cancer.
