Really excited to share a series I drew that’s now become a little postcard book! - Which is super exciting. (Links to that later) for now though, here’s “More Artists Doing Things”!
Our image here is a drawing of an easel with a canvas on it and the words ‘More Artists Doing Things’ - there’s also a tun of red paint on the ground, so that way you absolutely know it’s been painted on. Look at that… details! In this drawing we have Jackson Pollock doing his drip drawings, which involved meticulously splattering paint over a horizontal canvas, which sure - looks easy, until you stand in front of one of these artworks and it’ll blow your mind and you realise this guy was on to something. Anyway, in this drawing though he’s dropped his little tin of paint and it’s made an impossibly perfect square on the canvas which would’ve infuriated Pollock. Mondrian would have saved a bunch of time if it had happened to him though.
Next up we have “Andy Warhol Cooks Dinner” and there’s Andy in what looks like quite a spacious kitchen (Gotta assume this is a warehouse, right?) - anyway, of COURSE Andy is cooking up some Campbell's tomato soup, and to his right he’s got an entire shelf with a can in each little pigeonhole, with one missing! (yes he’s cooking it) This is a reference to Warhol’s ‘Campbell’s Soup Cans’ series - he drew 32 of these canvases between 1962, which is pretty impressive - I reckon I’d be sick of drawing them about halfway through the first row. (Actually, I did have to draw them for this drawing, and that’s exactly what happened)
Now we have “Georgia O’Keeffe Enters a Flower Arranging Competition” - In this drawing the amazing Georgia O’Keeffe is standing in front of her flower-arranging entry, which has been pixelated and has a ‘censored’ sign over the top of it. What was most interesting while doing some research for this drawing is that I discovered that Georgia O’’Keefee also did some pottery and ceramics for a while, and so the pot here that I’ve put her flowers in is actually a drawing of one of her own pots!

Hunter Valley community group wins landmark high court climate change case
Ruling on Mount Pleasant coalmine shows ‘we cannot continue to dig up coal … and pretend the consequences have nothing to do with us’, group says A Hunter Valley community group has won Australia’s first high court case to consider climate change, in a ruling advocates say sets a binding national precedent for fossil fuel projects in New South Wales. In a landmark judgment, the nation’s highest court upheld a unanimous ruling by the NSW court of appeal that overturned MACH Energy’s proposed expansion of its Mount Pleasant coalmine in Musswellbrook. Charts showing in 2024-25 4,862PJ of gas was exported or used in LNG plants, while only 1,016PJ was use by the domestic economy of mining, manufacturing, residential and gas power plants.

A lichen-covered granite rock face with a gecko on it that can only be seen with concentration. As the photo was taken at night the expanded black pupil is the most obvious indication of the lizard's presence.
