I need (not want - need) two BIG comfy reading chairs. One for my office at the uni and one for home. I'll put them on my christmas list (which I buy for myself anyway - the joys of being single and middle aged)... Feel free to donate, deliver, and set-up ;)

VTQA: behavioral data from studies on compression ratios in vibrotactile signal processing - BMC Research Notes
Objectives This dataset collection aims to facilitate research on the transmission of digitized vibrotactile signals over communication networks, emphasizing the importance of minimizing delay and bandwidth requirements while preserving perceptual quality in human sensory experiences. Data description The dataset includes perceptual ratings derived from two user studies evaluating the quality of vibrotactile signals compressed using various single-point tactile codecs. Participants provided subjective quality ratings for a range of compression ratios to assess data fidelity and the extent to which compression algorithms may compromise quality in favor of file size reduction.

My take home: Pure text generation is just the wrong way to use AI as an academic. Don't use it to decrease the quality of the hard thing you do. Instead, try to find ways to use it for making the boring parts of your job easier and increasing the quality and scope of the best parts!
