Archaeology is full of surprises: this Palaeolithic handaxe was found in a Roman ditch... Was it accidentally redeposited or was this Roman artefact collectors? Either way it adds to evidence for thousands of years of human activity & adds to nearby Palaeolithic assemblage from Norton Fitzwarren.

Happy International Dog Day! 🐩🐕🐕‍🦺 From guard dogs to good dogs, humans have had a special relationship with our canine friends for a long, long time. This brick, which appears to show a chase in pursuit, shows that dogs and cats have also had a (not quite as cuddly) relationship over the centuries.
