"Linkes Regieren innerhalb des Kapitalismus ist ein widersprüchliches, nur zeitlich begrenzt nutzbares Instrument." Wie die Chancen dafür in Berlin stehen, haben Daniel Behruzi, Stephan Kimmerle und Nicolas Rother (vor der Wahl) analysiert. Lohnt sich jetzt aber nochmal besonders.

110 years ago, in September 1916, tanks were used for the very first time. Ranging from July until November, the battle of Somme cost more than 150.000 lives (130.000 on the German side, only in September). Despite this, no real strategic objective was achieved. The front advanced by 2.3km.

Neukölln is home to one of the largest diasporic Palestinian populations in the world. They have been smeared in the media and attacked by riot cops. The local SPD, once powerful, tried to blame the "islamist" left for the attack on Berlin pride. Here's the election result.

In what Löwenthal called 'reverse psychoanalysis' (feeding rather than dealing with trauma and paranoia), contemporary fascists & authoritarians rally against migrants, LGBTQ, feminism, the left. Not, however, against intellectuals. That's probably because there are hardly any around.

All wars are based on false reports. They are meant to disguise the reality of economic interests and power-hungry idiocy, under the veil of some “noble” cause meant to mobilize *others* to die for it. If AI starts a war it will because some misanthropic morons gave it the power to decide.

Éden Teatro, inaugurated in 1914. A symbol of Art Deco at the time, it has become a symbol of what Lisbon is meant to promote today: an apartment hotel. While the facade remains unchanged, the interior of the building - and its history - have been gutted.
