If you looked at it very narrowly then sure I can see where the criticism is coming from, you could maybe describe its attacks on certain targets as toothless. But the film isn't actually going for those targets, it's going for *other* targets and it definitely isn't toothless there.

Marketing did the best job they could with a film that is completely unmarketable regardless of any discussions about whether the film is good or not (I think it is!) Best case scenario was they do "It's Digger!" marketing in the run up and then take advantage of the buzz from the critics but...
