Ein rastender Erdbeerbaumfalter (Charaxes jasius) ist ein seltener Anblick, denn dieser Falter ist während des ganzen Tages auf seinen Patrouillenflügen. Hier im Massif des Alpilles (Südfrankreich) ist der Falter an der Nordgrenze seines Verbreitungsgebietes. Seine großen Flügel erlauben nicht nur effizienten Segelflug, sondern auch ausgedehnte Wanderungen zwischen Standorten im Flach- und Hochland. Nur wenige Tagfalter sind so ausbreitungsstark und doch erzwingt die schnell voranschreitende Klimaerwärmung Arealverschiebungen in höhere Breiten und Höhen. Gelingt dies nur teilweise und in Kombination mit Habitatverlust und Landnutzungsänderungen schrumpft das Verbreitungsgebiet von Arten.
