Regular reminder that we are looking for a new colleague working on community ecology, ideally with an interest in land use change and urbanization. Was im Heizungskeller drin ist, ist Privatsache. Was oben aus dem Schornstein herauskommt selbstverständlich nicht. Es verursacht zunehmende Schäden und gefährdet Gesundheit und Leben, und ist deshalb verbindlich im Pariser Abkommen, in der EU und im deutschen Klimaschutzgesetz geregelt.

Schritt vier ist mir besonders wichtig.
Die Bundesregierung schafft mit den neuen Heizungsregeln de facto die Klimaziele ab.

Die Beimischung grüner Gase ist eine Alibilösung. Fachleute warnen: Davon werden wir absehbar nicht genug haben. Die Industrie braucht sie. Wenn wir sie verheizen, schafft das Konkurrenz. Trotzdem suggeriert die Regierung: Baut euch weiter Brennstoffheizungen ein, kein Problem! Wenn das jetzt aber alle tun, wir nicht genügend grüne Gase haben, zack - wird weiter Erdgas verbannt, trotz Klimaziel 2045.Man erkennt den Alibi-Charakter an den geringen Beimischungsquoten. 2029: 10 Prozent.
Mit diesen geringen Emissionsminderungswirkungen sind Klimaziele nicht zu halten. Damit ist das Gesetz potentiell verfassungswidrig. 

Und obwohl die Beimischungsquoten gering sind, drohen so Preissprünge, warnt zB das Institut der deutschen Wirtschaft. Heizen mit Brennstoffen wird so viel teurer. Aber zB Vermieter haben gar keinen Anreiz, die Heizung zu wechseln - sie müssen nicht.Das Klimaziel so offenkundig zu ignorieren, ist ein fatales Signal, in die Wirtschaft und die Gesellschaft hinein. Es zeigt Unternehmen, dass ambitionierte Investitionen in fossilfreie Technologien eigentlich nicht mehr zwingend sind. Transformation abgeblasen, nur noch nicht offiziell. Damit droht ein Abwärtsstrudel zu entstehen. Dabei darf man nie vergessen: Die Klimaziele dienen dazu unsere Lebensgrundlagen zu schützen und damit auch die wirtschaftliche Basis.
Hinweis: Nachrichten wie diese können extrem belasten. Politisches Nicht-Handeln führt bei vielen Bürger:innen zu einem Gefühl des ausgeliefert seins. Als wäre alles sinnlos. Es zersetzt das Vertrauen in staatliche Strukturen und ist eine schwere Belastung für die Psyche. Es geht vielen so.
Die Klimakrise lässt sich bewältigen und wir haben einen Haufen Lösungen dafür. Insbesondere im kommunalen Raum kann jeder und jede etwas bewegen.

De facto gibt diese Bundesregierung das Klimaschutzziel 2045 auf, wird aber performativ weiter behaupten es zu verfolgen. Das ist vielleicht die verheerendste Signalwirkung - in alle relevanten Bereiche hinein.

Selbst wenn man der Meinung wäre, dass alles am Gebäude-Energie-Gesetz von Habeck/Graichen falsch war, handwerklich, im Vorgehen, in der Lagebewertung, was auch immer, müsste man ihnen zugutehalten: Sie haben es wenigstens versucht. Union und SPD haben diesen Anspruch offensichtlich nicht mehr.

Ich bin in diese PK mit der Überzeugung gegangen, dass man das Vorhaben auf der Grundlage der Eckpunkte seriös noch nicht bewerten können wird, weil es auf die Details ankommt. Diese Überzeugung war falsch. Diese Eckpunkte versuchen noch nicht mal, einen Pfad zur Klimaneutralität zu behaupten.
