This is the same strategy they use in all of their political speech - they'll say the most bigoted shit you ever heard, and then immediately say that's not bigoted. Then Roberts and Kavanaugh nod, "Well they said it's not bigoted, so I guess it can't be bigoted."

Another entry in Trump publicly revealing details about other people's health. The question itself was already weird, and Trump didn't need to answer in this way.

What's notable to me about the Alito-Jackson spat on Monday is how little Alito's opinion bothers with anything resembling legal analysis. He doesn't respond to Jackson, in any meaningful sense. It's just an angry blog post about how she really ought to be more respectful to him.

This idea that politics is just an aesthetic or a taste gets me especially agitated. They think of it as similar to a quirky hobby or genre of media, and then get surprised when people dislike them for it. This shit matters. If you don't think it does, then the least you can do is sit it out.

I mean ... Heller, Citizens United, Shelby County, Burwell, Trump v. Hawaii, Brnovich, Dobbs, Trump v US, Callais ... That's a steady stream of radical rulings from a guy who pretended he had no agenda and promised he'd only call balls and strikes. He's a partisan hack, pure and simple.

As far as I can tell, a map-drawer can now say, "I am going to split this community of black voters into separate districts, not because I intend to dilute the votes of black Americans, but rather because black Americans vote Dem and I want to dilute the power of Dem voters," and it's just fine

6. The opinion was scathing, and called out the Trump administration for flagrant abuse of authority and disdain toward the rule of law. “Unserious leaders are unsafe,” Judge Kasubhai wrote in the opinion’s opening line. “There is nothing more serious than our leaders’ dedication to the rule of law"
Case No. 6:25-cv-02409-MTK

STATE OF OREGON, et al.,
Plaintiffs,

ROBERT F. KENNEDY, JR., in his official capacity as Secretary of the Department of Health and Human Services, et al.,
Defendants.
KASUBHAI, United States District Judge:
Unserious leaders are unsafe. There is nothing more serious than our leaders' dedication to the rule of law so that we might maintain the integrity of our constitutional democracy. This case highlights a leader's unserious regard for the rule of law. This case demonstrates how disregard for the rule of law does not merely result in an abstract infraction. Rather, and tragically, this case is one of a long list of examples of how a leader's wanton disregard for the rule of law causes very real harm to very real people.
This Court can and does judge the lawfulness of the process (or lack thereof) by which any policy choice might be made. Here, the Secretary of Health and Human Services, Robert F. Kennedy, Jr., unlawfully issued a declaration threatening to cut federal funding to medical providers who provided gender-affirming care to minors. If such a declaration could have been

Right after they finish with trans youth, their moving on to target youth with ADHD and autism to satisfy their austerity driven eugenics project. They don't even dignify us with new talking points.
A screenshot of a mobile webpage from The Telegraph's Health section. The headline reads, "Have mental health labels like ADHD and autism gone too far? Some experts think so," followed by a subheadline stating, "As a new report reveals skyrocketing autism and ADHD rates, some experts believe self-diagnoses are overshadowing those in real need of help."

The AMA supports gender-affirming care. That includes a wide range of treatments, of which surgery is just one. All evidence indicates that gender-affirming care works remarkably well. Top surgeries are only given after thorough assessments and have incredibly high satisfaction rates.
