Preslav Rachev @preslav.me · 11hWhy are you all suddenly so obsessed with using Rust for performance? Most of your apps will barely see a thousand requests per day, let alone, per second. Performance is not your problem. Never has been. Never will be. 031

Preslav Rachev @preslav.me · 29/09/2026Why? From my experience, Go code written by an agent doesn’t differ much from the written by me. For one, that’s one of Go’s strong sides for me. Adding a good set of linters helps - I noticed that agents like keeping code in excessively large files, finds, etc. 002

Preslav Rachev @preslav.me · 25/09/2026In case, you are all eyeballing Rust now after DHH endorsed it, keep in mind that it comes at a cost. I don't mean comprehension, agents can tackle that. It's the pure iteration slowldown caused by build speed. If your boss wants 100s of PRs/d now, you won't be able to reach the KPI that way. 000
Preslav Rachev @preslav.me · 24/09/2026But the rest is pure Claude Code. For semantic search and embedding, I use another Go CLI of mine that chunks files, embeds them, and stores chunks in SQLite. All in all, a much more familiar and more lightweight experience than running the beast that OpenClaw has become. 011
Preslav Rachev @preslav.me · 24/09/2026Months after the hype, I finally installed OpenClaw. Preslav Rachev @preslav.me · 18/09/2026What I really miss from JetBrains' Goland, is how easy it was to move types around. You just drag the type across packages, and all the imports get fixed automatically. I haven't been able to replicate it with CLI tools, and with AI agents, big refactors are even more wasteful. 410
Preslav Rachev @preslav.me · 17/09/2026Here we go again - I thought we were finally done with switching from framework X to framework Y every six months.
