We all literally, LITERALLY just watched NASA fly four absolute all-stars the farthest any human has ever been from Earth and back flawlessly, and yet we're still continuously forced to pretend Musk's bullshit catastrophe factory is the future of human space exploration

DoorDash will be like, "You're getting higher pay on this offer because you're a Super Duper Shopper, the best darn little shopper we know!" and the offer is literally a 118 item shopping order they want you to take 13 miles into the middle of nowhere for $7.

Last night I wrote the first scene of a thing I've been thinking about since January, the first time I've written something that wasn't a Facebook post since before Covid. Small victories.

I'm so tired of One True Fanning in fan spaces. "THERE ARE ONLY SIX DUNE BOOKS BWAHHH." "YOU DON'T LIKE WHEEL OF TIME IF YOU LIKED THE TV SHOW BLUBLUBLU." "THE RINGS OF POWER ARE AN ABOMINATION HERBIDYHERBIDY." Oh my god STOP IT. I JUST WANT MEMES. IT'S NOT THAT SERIOUS GUY.

The way I know Ramin Karimloo and Hadley Fraser are musical theatre nerds: In act one of this broadcast Ramin did "Bring Him Home" and Hadley did "Stars," which are roles they played on stage. But then in act two they said, "I want to hear your Bring Him Home! ❤" "I want to hear YOUR Stars! ❤ ❤"

There's this episode of Star Trek where Captain Picard is captured and tortured, and the main way that the torturer tries to break him is by showing him four lights, and telling him that there are five. There are four lights. This is not a post about Star Trek.

January 6, 2021 was the most shameful day in American history. It should live in infamy. We will never forget it, and we will not let the nation or the world forget — despite the revisionism of Trump and his lackeys in the Republican Party.

DHS throwing a hissy because Hilton franchise hotels are canceling their reservations for terrorizing the people of Minnesota is HILARIOUS. Hey guys. Remember when SCOTUS decided the bakery didn't have to make the cake for the gay guys getting married? *That's the precedent.*

So I opened a ticket, but maybe some fellow traveler on the internet will have the answer or a work around: All my google-fu has failed and the answer may be no, but would there be a mechanism for importing the entries from separate LJ accounts into a DW community for archiving purposes?

Shot in the dark I guess, but: does anyone have a reliable way to save entries/comments in a community that you do not admin? I haven't tried a print to PDF or anything, I'm concerned about not being able to see comments then.

I've officially reached a new low for Dumb And Petty Things I'm Disproportionally Angry About, and it is when people sing "bells on bobtails ring" when singing Jingle Bells. There's only one bobtail. It's a one horse open sleigh, it says it like twelve times.

The ACA isn't just "health care for people who don't have a conventional employer." It also disallows something that was incredibly common 20 years ago, which I fear is getting lost to generational memory: insurance companies could deny you health care for essentially any previous health problem.

If you want to be a racist about a half Japanese man playing Mozart in the new Amadeus but call it a concern about "historical accuracy" maybe start with the fact that Salieri did not have an all-consuming jealousy of Mozart that drove the younger man into his grave do👏🏻 not 👏🏻 play 👏🏻 with 👏🏻 me. 👏🏻

SERIOUSLY as long as we as a society look at the only true redemption being in death, we're never going to fix things. There will never be a path to de-escalation and reintegration to a community until we know it can be done. Yes, people need to atone for wrongdoing and be truly repentant.

i dont want to be in a fandom that critisizes the choices of fictional characters like they are human beings. i want to see THEORY and ANALYSIS and STORY STRUCTURE and CHARACTER DEVELOPMENT!! I WANT PARALLELS AND MOTIFS AND VISUAL CUES!!! They're not REAL they are TOOLS so stop acting like they are people who made bad choices and should be punished. of course they made bad choices!!! that shit is funny and cool to watch!!
