Everyone I’ve seen who says it’s groundbreaking tech with real use in their lives does it for very specific reasons that are NOT paradigm shifting, and not erasing the labor force these tools are being touted for. Frankly it seems more akin to when calculators became cheap than weaving machines.

Hebrew punctuation precedes Zionism as a political movement by about a 800 years. It was not in any way integral to "spoken Hebrew" and the unity between Jews across the world was never "artificial". It's just wrong on so many levels.

I've heard people make claims that AI would lead to a new Renaissance, but I didn't imagine it'd happen like this:
Screenshot of a Tweet from Pope Leo XIV. It reads:

"In this era of artificial intelligence, it is becoming urgen to distinguish human art from what machines produce. There is an ontological difference, even before an aesthetic one, between art and what a machine can generate through statistical calculation based on millions of images created by others. Algorithms lack the spark of humanity. For this reason, the Church wishes to renew an alliance with artists and cultural institutions to safeguard our humanity."

Now for a less diplomatic point: it is high time to stop humoring the bigoted beliefs of groups about other groups (because that is exactly what is going on here, "Jews are an artificially united construct" is not a randomly acquired bit of crankery, it is the hallmark of Middle Eastern antisemitism

They're calling it "Skydance" because it sounds like a tech-ish name, and Hollywood has been trying to be Tech for years now. They still haven't figured out that Netflix is having to pivot to the system Hollywood developed decades ago.

No, other people on here have shown comments and DMs that are indeed leftists/red triangle/hammer-sickle making bizarre comments about Jews. One of them was even going on about race-mixing. "Nonsensical"? Hardly. Look at your own house.

I can tell you what this means! (the way I understand it anyway) motion is what keeps your joints healthy. Even if, e.g., you have tendinopothy pain in your knee, riding your bike will help ease it. "The motion is the lotion" is the saying in that case.

There are 16 officially recognized Holocaust Museums in the US & O Slavery Museums. There are 100s of Holocaust Memorials here. Why?
Holocaust memorials continue to proliferate in small towns
There are 300 Shoah study centers and museums across the US, and possibly thousands of memorials - with more on the way

This thread makes some excellent points but I’m also just going to say very succinctly that if antisemitism isn’t systemic then why is Christmas a national holiday that nearly everyone has off while Jews have to fight to get our holy days off work and often have to use vacation days to do it?

‘Antisemitism isn’t systemic’ is the Left’s version of ‘the world’s oldest hatred’. An easy slogan that is in fact a sign of impoverished thought, a stubborn unwillingness to think critically & rigorously. One hyperbolizes, the other minimizes;

It would make my life a lot more pleasant if people understand that there is no such thing as a "pure, correct" history of Jewish life in Israel/Palestine, people are messy and it had gone through like, 3 different empires in as many decades

I don't know enough about the politics of the Black Panther Party (US) to agree or disagree, but I do know that, no, the Israeli Panthers weren't trying to create a "new order" by burning down the State. They wanted a place within it. Begin promised that with Likud, and here we are today.

They had common cause with Palestinians and Israeli Arabs, but the struggle was primarily one of racism *between Jews.* Asaf Elia-Shalev says "The [US] Black Panthers were real revolutionaries who wanted a new order" and admits "the Israeli Panthers weren't quite there. They wanted to belong."

Reading up on the Israeli Black Panthers, and I find it fascinating how Leftist Jewish pubs will give a full throated history of them -- right up until they have to acknowledge that their relationship to Zionism was complicated, that they were trying to make a home WITHIN the Jewish State

Standing has nothing to do with fitness and can in fact disable a fit person because they strain their knees or have poor posture (something most people have). While we’re at it, cashiers should have seats too, like in Europe.

It happens so often it can be hard to even see. Men having the same experience I am, but I hit a place where the attention becomes unpleasant. Inuendos start. I have to wiggle out of something I did not start (cautiously! trying not to upset any dangerous egos!) so I leave, while the men get to stay

Yes every woman has been harassed, many assaulted. But every woman has also experienced invisible loss from moments she avoided harassment. She felt a space becoming unsafe, so she left, while men stayed on. And in leaving, she lost: opportunities, experiences, learning, promotions, even simply fun.

Three years ago, the Free Beacon ironically named me man of the year on their website. "Don’t give up Ben, you have a whole lot of nothing to look forward to," they wrote. This year, I was on a TIME100 list. I would take this moment to tell them how they can suck me: from the back. Thank you.
We don’t know about Ben’s family or personal finances, but we certainly can’t disagree about his lack of skills. But for someone with absolutely no ability, Ben has found the perfect gig.

Don’t give up Ben, you have a whole lot of nothing to look forward to. Only now, when you do nothing, you'll do it as a Free Beacon Man of the Year.I win.

So now that Ben has been named a TIME100 influential person, maybe he'll understand why people were kinda put off by how his relationship to Kat Abu wasn't disclosed when she was running. At the time he was like "what, I'm just some schmoe." He's not.

Do the men in the group chat like each other, I wonder-these men expressing such unmistakable, unrestrained glee as they stain their souls forever and ruin their classmate's life. I can't decide whether they're more odious if the answer is yes or if it's no, but I can't dismiss the question as unimportant, either. These fraternities that the public rarely hears about, except when their members kill or rape: do they foster the bonds of friendship or just cheaply mimic them? When some ex-frat boy needs a lawyer or an introduction to a senator later in his life, when that boy digs through the network of other boys for a hookup, what is the nature of the bond he's leaning on? I want to diagnose it. I'm the naive fool who believes that in diagnosing it, I can cure us all of it.
