Jacket update. I went with the red piping. All I have left to do is the cuff buttons. The main buttons are ivory (corozo nut). I have the option of either ivory or turquoise for the cuff buttons (couldn't get matching buttons for the front, hence ivory).

Ok #SewSky, please vote. I use satin bias tape to make contrast flat piping between a jacket's facing and lining. Latest jacket project uses sea-green linen (a bit greener than the photo), and a toning Sanganeri print. Option 1 (red) Option 2 (pink) Option 3 (ivory). Vote please.
Binding option 1. Dark red binding. Picks up the red in the print.Option 2. Pale pink binding, picks up the pink in the print.Option 3. Ivory bias tape, picks up the unpainted background

Stolen from LinkedIn! The over-the-top text also has very strong GenAI overtones... maybe that's what some people are using to write captions?

Humbled by the unwavering support of my family and local stakeholders.

#AdventCalendar for December 16th, today we have the crib.
A crib scene, with a snow-covered stable, Mary (in blue with a white veil), Joseph (in brown), a baby in the crib, with lots of white cloths, a donkey, a sheep, and a hornèd ox, plus a couple of angels. "Setting up the crib" means the figurative re-enactment of the entire nativity stable scene, with Mary, Joseph, the ox, donkey, shepherds, angels, and the the wise men. By now this is a famous tradition for Christmas.

Advent calendar picture showing an open fire in a brick fireplace, with an arched surround.Accompanying text, in both German and English. Only giving the English this time, as they're isn't much disparity between the two.

In religious families in France they serve seven dishes and 13 desserts on Christmas Eve in honour of Christ and the twelve Apostles. Many families make a cake that looks like a tree stem. It symbolises the warmth of a fire place with which they welcome Baby Jesus.

#AdventCalendar for December 14th.
Advent calendar picture showing a snowy fir tree, bedecked with lit candles.Descriptive text accompanying the picture, in both German and English.

The decorated Christmas tree is a pagan custom. Green branches bring vitality and health, fending off evil spirits. Over the years, it because a Christian Christmas tradition. The custom soon spread from Germany all over the world.

It has blue ribbons wrapped around it, and is dangling from another three blue ribbons tied together in a bow at the top. Sweden.
The 13th of December is the Saint's day of Holy Lucia. The young Sicilian hid persecuted Christians. She wrote a wreath with candles on her head, lighting the way to the hiding place, and keeping her hands free to carry food. In Sweden, the oldest daughter of the family commemorates this by bringing breakfast to bed for her family, wearing a white robe, with a candle wreath on the head.

#AdventCalendar for 12th December.
A small child dressed up as an angel, with white wings, holding a red book of music.Text in English and German describing a tradition of carol-singing in protestant Germany. Both languages given, as they are quite different.

#AdventCalendar for December 11th. Today in the tour of Europe the window is in central France, although the reference is to "various countries".
An Advent Calendar window showing mistletoe, a green leafy plant with white berries.Accompanying text, in German and English. Both are given, as there are some major differences!

The mistletoe is always green and was known among Teutons and Celts as a symbol of love and peace. In its honour, enemies reconciled and have reach other a kiss of peace. Since then the custom of kissing underneath the mistletoe in countries like England and the USA was born.
