I decided that I'll start teaching all of you some of my fav Chilean Spanish phrases for some situations. One of them is "Éste weon cree que somos weones?" which is basically "This asshole really thinks we're all stupid?" and I think it's a beautiful way to translate this gaslighting of a statement

My #pixelart entry for PSICOZINE, an italian fanzine! 124x180px, 22 colors I originally meant to animate it, but I am pc-less atm. Bronzong is one of my faves - I love bronzes from the Yayoi period in general. Recently, I also developed a huge love for the bronze art of Sangxingdui, Guanghan.

$A pixel art of the pokemon Bronzong and Bronzor. The steel/psychic pokemon is embedded in an intricate frame wall, perfectly shaped around him. Two Bronzor are located at its sides. The dark temple is lit by a bright flame contained in a horned urn right below Bronzong. This round brazier is shaped like the headpiece of the legendary pokemon Ting-Lu. The bright flame causes all sorts of reflections and color diffractions: from the warm light to the characteristic shades of oxidated bronze, with purple and cold reflections as well. Upon further inspection, the rich frame carvings reveal many historiated scenes: below bronzong there's a lunette holds stylized figures of Dialga, Palkia and Giratina. Above the two Bronzor, embedded in the frame, the silhouettes of Uxie, Azelf and Mesprit. On the higher part of the structure, right above Bronzong, the effigy of Arceus, lit by a cold light.$

One of our questions touched on the opening of the Pokémon Center New York store which happened two months after the devastating attacks on New York City on September 11th, 2001. johtotimes.com/posts/interv...

Johto Times: Two months prior to opening the store, New York City was the victim of the devastating terrorist attack upon the World Trade Center. How did this tragedy affect the project and the staff working on it?

Dave Hillenbrand: The WTC attack affected our team greatly as almost everyone knew someone who has passed away on 9/11. The Pokémon Center was near the famous St. Patrick Cathedral where daily funerals were held for firemen who had passed away during the attack for over a month. I had a meeting with everyone involved in the project and spoke how the city, especially the children, needed this store more than ever to open on schedule.

And that is what we did. Also, our steel workers volunteered to help out with the clean-up and recovery at the World Trade Center after working on the Pokémon Store. They worked around the clock with no breaks to do both. We owe them a lot of gratitude.

They complained about Wind Waker for looking childish and not living up to that old tech demo. They complained about Twilight Princess for looking brown and grey. They complained about the Link's Awakening remake for also looking cutesy. In other news, water is wet.

Link is in a dark room with only a torch lit up. Wind Waker's iconic cel-shading is on full display here.

The game was eventually remastered on Wii U with noticeably different lighting, but I'm presenting its original GameCube form here for historical purposes.

The aforementioned tech demo from Spaceworld 2000. Ganondorf and Adult Link from Ocarina of Time are engaged in a sword fight. The sword the former wields would later reappear in Super Smash Bros. Melee and Ultimate. Link also wields the Hero's Shield from Majora's Mask, though you can't tell in this screenshot.

The N64 era of Zelda had some fantastic designs, but I'll argue that Wind Waker's graphics aged better than this, even though it was impressive for 2000.

To win audiences back, Twilight Princess adopted a darker, grittier art style compared to Wind Waker. TP sold and reviewed amazingly, but no game is without its detractors. Part of that is the art direction, while some also criticized it for retreading Ocarina of Time.

Box art for the Link's Awakening remake on Switch. Similar to the original Game Boy version and its DX upgrade, Link is depicted with a large head, stubby limbs, and pitch-black eyes. The same art style and engine would later be repurposed for Echoes of Wisdom.
