Dear fellow faculty. Don't be a jerk about student accomodations to the student. They are needs that our totally gutted educational culture has made necessary. I know it's a pain to deal with all the individual requirements, but you can design classes that accommodate most if not all.

Together with my mil, we got a used Ram 3500 for hauling needs. It has an armored grill & a gun rack. I love driving it blasting some indie band, while all the ranchers & wanna be cowboys on the front range stare with confused faces. I'm everything they expect, except the music.

"If someone tells me he loves France, I take it as homage. But for my part I do not love France except as one may love oneself; and I have learned that one must not love oneself too much, which is ugly and foolish." Alain (Émile-Auguste Chartier), 1914.

Today’s John Coltrane’s centennial. Listening to his music taught me as much about thinking as Gramsci, Husserl, Hall, or Anderson. One of the very few historical figures who I’d call a hero.

If the Supreme Court votes to repeal birthright citizenship it must be understood as a yet another vote to repeal themselves as justices. A Supreme Court seat doesn’t carry the power to overturn the Constitution. Elected leaders and citizens both must recognize all six of them as illegitimate.

You might believe you are progressive & democratic but if you support statements whereby the authoritarianism of a state and its capital factions are the consequence/reflection of a people's *culture* you are a reactionary. Full stop. Sign of the times that we have to point out such an obvious thing

Shocked. Shocked, I say, to find that Abundance is, in fact, a smuggle for tech fascism. Courtesy @levernews.com
A On the payroll. A new "pro-growth" centrist Democrat dark money group — pushing for, you guessed it, deregulation — has turned up on Capitol Hill, and it's being led by a former lawmaker-turned-lobbyist for OpenAI, the Big Tech behemoth behind ChatGPT. In 2025, former Rep. Cheri Bustos (D-III.) also lobbied on behalf of Oracle, the computing giant led by MAGA megadonor Larry Ellison, and the Solana Policy Institute, a cryptocurrency advocacy group.
• Bustos will now serve as president of Next American Era, a nonprofit aligned with the anti-progressive Abundance movement to "[make] it easier to build and to generate opportunity" by cutting so-called red tape.

I cannot sufficiently underline how despicable it is that the IOC has required Haitian Olympic athletes to remove an image representing the leader of the Haitian Revolution (against SLAVERY) from their uniforms.
MILAN (AP) — The troubled Caribbean country, Haiti, has fielded two athletes for the Milan Cortina Winter Games, and they will proudly wear Haitian symbols — although one less than intended after intervention by the International Olympic Committee.

The skiers will compete in uniforms designed by Italian-Haitian designer Stella Jean that originally featured an image of Toussaint Louverture, the former slave who led a revolution that created the world’s first Black republic in 1804. The IOC ruled that the image violated Olympic rules barring political symbolism, requiring Jean to come up with a creative solution: painting over the nation’s founding father.
