The scene is theatrical, absurd, apocalyptic. I want this work to operate as an allegory for nature reclaiming agency in a world shaped and damaged by human dominance, while also reflecting on the nature of our own accountability. The Borzois, elegant yet comically inept, echo the structure of a traditional firing squad, where responsibility is diffused among the many and individual culpability dissolves in the group. In a lot of my work humour and visual ‘prettiness’ function as a deliberate entry point into darker themes. I wanted this piece to act as an absurd sort of mirror for a society adept at avoiding personal responsibility with collective anonymity.

I once read a quote like, “Business is people.” Ultimately business (busy-ness) is ONLY about people. Who is going to use the AI they fired or didn’t hire people to make in the first place? Treating people fairly and wanting the best for them is good business.
