I marked year 13 homework today. It’s open-book and they’re encouraged to seek help to do the best they can. I’ve just marked 20 pieces of work done mostly by AI. Other than throwing it at them tomorrow, suggestions on what I can do? (They’ve had the “you’re only cheating yourselves” talk already!)

Anyone around north London can teach A level maths for a few days at an outstanding sixth form college in Harrow on the Hill? Their results were fab, and they are massively over subscribed and maths numbers are bouncing ... I taught there three years myself, brilliant place to teach. #ALevelMaths

I don't know if anyone's teaching L2 FM this year, but Vietnamese University Entrance Exam has a good collection of questions combining coordinate geometry AND Euclidian geometry - you'll need to do geometric proofs before plugging in coordinates! #ALevelMaths #L2FurtherMaths

We have the same issue. Students are much more passive than they used to be! I’ve reverted to using mini whiteboards with my A Level lot just to get them to participate.

iPads and tablets work brilliantly! I used OneNote for everything a few years back when most of my class had tech - they submitted assignments through it and I marked/fed back on there too. Mostly we use paper and folders, but we’re going back to exercise books next year! We’ll see how that goes.

We use a combination of different resources - @goteachmaths.bsky.social @draustinmaths.com @corbettmaths.bsky.social @mathswhiteboard.bsky.social and Maths Genie are my go-to resource websites. I do a lot of modelling with MWB as well as on the smart board.

I know it's the holidays, but I any suggestions for a new KS4 resource? Currently use Pearson Active Learn, but we all end up finding alternative questions, as insufficient skills building questions. We liked the style of good old-fashioned Rayner books from the 1990s. Any recommendations? 🙏

None - I’m not a fan of booklets personally! I find them too prescriptive. I like more flexibility in my teaching. Someone else on here may be able to suggest some though.
