QUESTION DEEP DIVE The IB May 2026 exam pack is recently released. Some questions could use a bit more care, but there are some great ones on the papers as well. This is part 1 - AAHL Paper 1 across all 3 time zones. Analysis below. #ALevelMaths #AAHL

@sxpmaths.bsky.social @kerrydunton.bsky.social @ecrmaths.bsky.social et al. Hi y'all! I've written a series of worksheets aiming at TMUA/ESAT candidates, kinda analogous to Tyler Tutoring's worksheets but going a bit beyond. This is the first part on algebra. Answers included. #ALevelMaths

More coordinate geometry fun! Some of these questions will be useful for TMUA candidates -0 especially the ones with circles, great combination of geometry and coord geo with a twist. #ALevelMaths #L2FurtherMaths

I don't know if anyone's teaching L2 FM this year, but Vietnamese University Entrance Exam has a good collection of questions combining coordinate geometry AND Euclidian geometry - you'll need to do geometric proofs before plugging in coordinates! #ALevelMaths #L2FurtherMaths

QUADRATICS This is a fun quadratic question that may or may not be part of the November mocks. Feedback much appreciated. Thinking of you @susanwhitehouse.bsky.social @ridermeister.bsky.social Thoughts? :D

CIRCLE GEOMETRY (part n) Today we have two questions of moderate difficulty. Both questions can be used as extensions for L2 FM students and can be completed in 5-10 minutes. A bit of angle chasing should get the job done. Enjoy! #L2FM

TEXTBOOK RECOMMENDATION (I don't get any sponsorship for this, simply wanted to share what I've been using for years.) If you're interested in Australian maths exams, you must have come across this classic. Well-organised textbook with lots of practice questions for students of all abilities.

EXAMS FROM QUEBEC (Canada) Quebec has the most creative/demanding maths exams for students - and the positive impact it has on performance on intl benchmark is clear. Each pair of images form a C1 exam for Sec 3 (y10). 2h, 1 single question. The C2 is more conventional - 3h, 16 qns. #gcsemaths

PSA: periodic reminder that IGCSE syllabi have very cool questions for students and worth having a quick look at. IGCSE Syllabus B is criminally underrated imo. Attached are questions from the November 2024 papers. #gcsemaths

Continuing my obsession with circle geometry, here's a lovely question from a high school for the gifted entrance exam. This is part (a) of the three-part question. Parts (b) and (c) are way too hard for students without formal training in geometry. #L2EMC #L2FM

@sxpmaths.bsky.social shared a few nice questions from Netherlands exams, and I'd like to share that they had nice circle theorem questions featured on exams around 2005-2015 (years are not exact).

This is a very nice cyclic quadrilateral question. Hardest part is drawing the diagram from the written description; needed to deduce that ABCD is an isosceles trapezium. Also loved that the jump between item isn't too ridiculous. SPOILERS BELOW. #GCSEMaths #L2FM

FRENCH BAC post-2019, part 2 The French bac has lovely questions on probability and probability distributions (this goes beyond the scope of Single A-level but totally within the scope of IB). The work on sequences and numerical methods is also quite solid (see second photo).

Let's go beyond the Anglosphere and venture into the French Baccalaureate. The French Bac has undergone lots of updates over the years, so let's focus on the post-2019 French bac for now. The French Bac is known for their rigour - which makes sense when there are 4 questions for 4h. #ALevelMaths

I was making a worksheet for my student on areas between curves and came across beautiful questions from O-level AMath prelims. Good stretch material for your A-level. #ALevelMaths

November 2025 South African exams (Mathematics): Strong in trigonometry and geometry as usual. Coordinate geometry questions (not shown here) are also quite solid. A lot of these questions can be used as extension for L2 FM/EMC or A-level students, perhaps with some tiny tweaks. #ALevelMaths

Here's an adapted version from HKCEE back in the days. I don't remember exactly the year. Good stretch for your GCSE Maths students and maybe your L2 FM students as well! #L2FurtherMaths

HKDSE, Compulsory Part. Same as last post, I'm a month late to the party. First three photos for L2 FM or AS Maths, last one appropriate for GCSE as an extension. (HKDSE CP is very strong in using area scale factors). #GCSEMaths

Just realised that I am a month late to the HKDSE exams. This year's M2 paper was BRUTAL. 100 marks, 2.5h. Not very surprised by the last two photos (M2 usually has a tricky integration question and a tricky matrices questions). #ALevelMaths #ALevelFM

It's almost the high school entrance exam [end of Y10 in the UK system] season back home (in Vietnam). Allow me to introduce circle theorem questions. These questions are quite beyond what's expected at GCSE, but doesn't carry the same vibe as Olympiads. Enjoy!

ICYMI: This is a thread on New Zealand exams. Very strong in probability and statistics. Interesting course design and grading scheme, albeit a little controversial.

I've had a quick look at the past mock questions I've written, and these four questions stood out for the last 5 exam series. Some of them are more routine, some of them are more adventurous. These are a bit trickier than the typical A-level questions. Tell me what you think! #ALevelMaths

I don't think I've ever shared a question on probability distributions on here! This is a question that I wrote for last year's mocks. Short, crisp, straight to the point. What do you think? #ALevelMaths

RESOURCE FEATURE - IGCSE International Mathematics (0607) 0607 is an underrated syllabus. Plenty of stretch materials for students at all attainment levels. PLUS an investigation and modelling paper! Questions taken from November 2025. Obligatory ping to @mathsjem.bsky.social. (Hi Jo!)

A more recent question from the M26 mocks, to be done without a calculator. Last question of the paper, so designed to be challenging. Most students should be able to get a few marks if they dig deep enough (part (b)(i) is a freebie). Thoughts? #ALevelMaths @susanwhitehouse.bsky.social

This is a lovely question I wrote for M25 mocks. Not in the typical A-level style, but IB does give questions like this every now and then. Many students were intimidated by its appearance, but getting 2 marks out of 7 is not out of reach. The order of the bullet points should've been reversed.

This is a question I wrote for the last season of mock exams for IB AAHL Paper 1. Would love to get your takes on it - especially regarding the ramp of demand within the question and the level of scaffolding provided. This question is intended to be solved WITHOUT any calculators. #ALevelMaths

HONG KONG DEEP DIVE - Part 3 The DSE Maths curriculum is split into the Compulsory Part (covered prev.) and the Extended Part (Modules 1 or 2). Students may take only ONE of the two modules. Module 1 is modelled after AS Maths and Stats. Module 2 is the first part of HKALE Pure. #ALevelMaths

HONG KONG DEEP DIVE - Part 2 Now we're moving on to RECENT syllabi, DSE. Compulsory Part (CP) is roughly equivalent to GCSE, with bits and pieces from AS Maths. STRONGEST TOPICS: Statistics, geometry, circle theorems. Both MCQ and FRQ are noteworthy.

HONG KONG DEEP DIVE A few days ago I shared a few questions from the old HKALE exams. Today we'll focus on HKCEE questions from the pre-DSE era. Questions taken from HKCEE Add Maths. STRONGEST TOPICS: They're pretty strong across the board! A lot of STEP-like questions. #ALevelMaths
