This project is pretty ghatdang cool. I have played many things that were supposed to emulate the feel of Resident Evil in TTRPG form, but nothing quite like this. And if "Ink Ribbon" isn't the perfect title for a project of this caliber, I don't know what is!

The Blood of Dawnwalker is grand, even though far too many of its quests force you into combat that doesn't have enough depth to sustain itself over time. But when the game does stuff well, it really excels. Also, extra points for featuring Central Asians in a tale set in 1300s Eastern Europe!

Another pixel art mockup I made ages ago to celebrate my first ever D&D campaign. Edited the character sprites from Final Fantasy V; compiled the rest from other games. The wolf is a Twilight Princess custom sprite; I don't recall the creator, alas Fond memories! Shout out to Malte, our intrepid DM

Everyone expressing sadness at this needs to realise that ultimately, Square Enix is a very conservative company. Naoki Hamaguchi in particular has expressed support for Japan's current ultra-right PM. The only Square (well, former Square) guy who gives non-milquetoast statements is Yasumi Matsuno.

"Nearly 30 years ago, the collapse of Japan's bubble economy engulfed the nation's financial institutions in mountains of bad debt, triggering a wave of corporate bankruptcies, a sudden and extreme rise in unemployment rates, and stagnation of Japanese society as a whole. It was an era when many were robbed of hope, when dreams were measured by their price tag.

Against this historical backdrop, I crafted a story. It was the story of Ramza, a young man who fought tirelessly against the entrenched social class system. It was the story of Delita, who sought to take advantage of this confusion and despair to advance his own social position. It was a story of a peculiar destiny, in which friendship and betrayal intertwine.

And now, in 2025—a time when inequality and division are still deeply rooted in our society—I offer this story once again.

Not sure what to think about the Ocarina of Time remake, honestly. I like some things - Hyrule Town is impressive, and those are truly fancy textures on Link's outfit - but when I first saw screenshots, I thought someone had asked ChatGPT to do a Zelda mockup in the style of Unreal Engine 5.

It's so funny to think that Dante was supposed to be the star of Resident Evil 4. I remember buying this and DMC 2 and 3 in a three-pack as my first PS2 purchase, then playing them all on my cruddy CRT in university when my roommate was asleep. Good times
