My dad told me "ego is toxic for driving, no one is free of it behind the wheel" He used to get irritated when people called him a good driver cause "it only takes one bad day to change that" he hated how dependent we were on cars. People's ego's inflate & time becomes an excuse for recklessness

Police (UK) used to disengage car chases really early, the concern for the safety of other road users was paramount.
