Rest in peace, Joe Harkness. I was shocked and gutted when I heard the news. He was a generous, inspirational teacher and such an important writer. He was brutally honest, inclusive and funny too. When I interviewed him last summer (below) he was so full of life. www.theguardian.com/environment/...

Happy pride month! These little fellas are available now in my shop! (link in bio) Sorry if I just made one of each, I also wanted to work in the sun fishes (the'll be available soon) TTwTT #SciArt #embroidery #AnimalArt
A group or embroidered sacabambaspis patches, each with a different flower pattern and a color palette corresponding to a pride flag.

Also Idk flower stuff, so I just choose a flower that would go well with the palette of each fish

From left to right it's: gay with some Alocasias, Pan with a hibiscus, lesbian with some sakura flowers, bisexual with some daisies, aromantic with a cauliflower, non-binary with some narcissus, asexual with a pair of daisies and trans with some bleeding hearts

New at #Patreon: Stop press (literally, in my case)! Fossils suggest that the tapjearid Sinopterus had blue-green/magenta iridescence? Huge implications for #pterosaur #paleoart and just one of a suite of new papers reinventing tapejarid pterosaurs. Discussion at www.patreon.com/posts/159645...
A short-faced toothless pterosaur hangs from a gingko branch. It has blue, green and purple iridescence as well as banding on its crest: all features based on fossil data. (Note that the exact patterning and expressed colours are unknown; we have some ingredients of the colour profile of this animal, but don't know how they were expressed in life).
