Congratulations! You've reached the Bearded Tit part of your feed.
A Bearded Tit peeks around a tall reed with its head tilted curiously towards the camera, as though checking you've made it to the right place. Its soft grey head, peachy-buff body and distinctive black moustache markings stand out against a beautifully blurred reedbed.

Faith in human nature restored. Whilst walking/camping in the Lake District, I left my trekking poles on a windswept fellside, off the beaten track, on a rarely-visited fell. More in hope than expectation I posted on a "lost and found in Cumbria" FB page.

You're so Venn. You probably think this diagram is about you

I'm blessed to have a nearly-15 year old who loves the fells as much as I do, and who is as happy on top of Nethermost Pike in cloud this year as he was in sunshine 4 years ago

Comment in project meeting today, "we need to do X or we'll take a bath on this contract". Later, Colleague A asks Colleague B what this meant. Colleague B explains what "taking a cold bath means". Confusion reigns.

It won't pay my bills either, but isn't life richer for this kind of detail? 😊

Just finished reading @herdyshepherd.bsky.social "The Place of Tides". A beautiful book, but now sat watching the rain streaming down the window as tears stream down my face asking myself if I'm making any kind of positive difference to the world, however small.

Hello down there! I seem to be a little bit stuck. Any chance you have a ladder long enough to come and get me? Of course I'll co-operate, and not try and escape along a branch not strong enough for my weight, or cling fiercely to the tree with every fibre of my being when you try and pick me up.
A view straight up a slender tree trunk into the upper branches, where a calico cat stares down from a perch on a narrow branch

For the record, scrapping indefinite leave to remain and deporting people is wrong *not* because it hasn't been costed properly, or the "figures are wrong" but because it's a disgraceful, immoral, inhumane, idiotic thing to do. And appeals to racist shitgibbons.

The boy's in Yr9 now, so time for teachers to knuckle down and make sure the kids really hate English literature. 13 year old boys are definitely interested in Jane Eyre and An Inspector Calls. Or Ann In Spectacles as we now call it. Husband does love a pun.

All the wanging on about how the liberal left are the violent ones reminds me of Rimmer in Red Dwarf, mocking liberals, "The time for talking is over. Call it extreme if you like, but I propose we hit it hard and hit it fast with a major - and I mean major - leaflet campaign"

I didn't quite get the same angle in April and August, but I still rather like the contrast of blossom then sloes and the treeless branches in Spring being lush green in Summer

The dark line is a Badger path. The lawn was wildflower meadow and so little light reached the ground. Now it has been cut the dead, yellow grass is revealed. But where the Badgers cross they trample the long grass letting light down to the ground. Worth looking out for in recently cut fields.

I'm not saying we horde things at work but one of my colleagues got a power supply out of a drawer (and used it) that had a label on it saying "Made in West Germany". OK, yes, I am saying we horde things.

I so want to do this, but also am so time-poor at the moment that I know I would just pile stress on my poor burnt-out little brain by giving myself another "should". So maybe this can be my summer holiday thing.
