The TRS 80 Colour Computer, aka the CoCo. Attached to an old tv set to channel 3 for the monitor, programs came on cartridges you inserted in the side of the keyboard/computer. We also had a cassette recorder attached as an alternate input device.

I read a series of four ebooks in a library app. Wanted to get a friend's thoughts on it, but he doesn't like ebooks. Bought him the first book for his birthday. After reading it, he plans to buy the rest of the series. Books are habit forming.

I've been getting up in front of audiences since I was 3 or 4. Public speaking is not a problem for me. Put me in front of an audience of any size, with a shared expectation about what I'm there to do, and I'll do it. Sitting in an empty room and talking to a screen may drive me completely batty.

Yes and no. Libraries don't have infinite space. Books get damaged, get checked out and don't return, go missing, etc. The bigger issue is the pricing structures, libraries can usually purchase 3+ physical copies for the cost of 1 digital. With PA this was justified by publishers by saying (cont.)

I'm reminded of when I got the Pooka kithbook for the Changeling TTRPG, and it had a merit that allowed you to change forms without losing or destroying your clothing. But before that, there was no mention anywhere that changing forms caused you to lose or destroy your clothing. That wasn't a thing.

We keep discussing ”strategies” for teaching in the age of AI to avoid talking about resources. It’s so boring!! The strategy is invest $ to hire people, lower class size, support research-engaged learning & stop measuring the worth of disciplines in relation to # of enrollments and majors.
