Oh man... Lotta denial already about our latest research: sparktoro.com/blog/new-res... Some faves: "Does Google search FEEL like the safe thing?" 🤔 "I think the numbers lie." 🙄 "You have to wonder how long search as we know it has. Soon everyone will just talk to their personal AI assistant" 😑

I was so fucking angry after seeing the way Trump and his pitiful piece of shit sidekick Vance treated Zelenskyy today, I was fucking shaking. When my partner asked me what was up and I tried to explain it to her, I started to cry. I've sat on it for the last 12 hours, and I'm still fucking furious.

Marco Rubio is like having Tom Wambsgabs as Secretary of State, a man whose ambition is to be an empty suit, on board to take any stance, say anything, whatever the boss wants, and sponge up some of the pain that comes back, all for the trappings, the title, the plane rides, the suits, to be there.

This week has been nuts, super busy, long hours, average sleep, and very little time for fun stuff. At about 11:45pm a couple of nights ago, I thought to myself, should I go to bed, or should I fix the Lamy Safari stub nib I bought ages ago and never really loved? Of course, the fountain pen won.

I'm in Australia. There is no way for me to influence the opinions of US voters. Yet every day, I wake up in a world shaped by the decisions of US voters. I'm f**king sick of it. The US is a f**king clown show at the moment.

All I wanted was a relaxing weekend and some sleep after a super busy/stressful week, but my son has caught some sort of virus and is super sick now and I've spent the night on a spare bed in his room with him waking every 30 mins 😩 Maybe I can rest next weekend...

Spending the evening watching YouTube while polishing my new (to me) Montblanc 24 fountain pen. I picked this up on eBay a couple of weeks ago, and it arrived yesterday. It's in great shape overall, but someone left ink in it many years ago, which had dried and glued everything together.

My fountain pen is full of molten gold (said in the voice of Goldmember from Austin Powers) 😂 I had a couple of new inks arrive today and had to give this one a go before I went to bed. The shimmer is just insane! It's Van Diemen's Greek Heros Alexander. So cool 😍

I won an auction for a vintage Montblanc set this morning, including a Montblanc 24 fountain pen, 28 ballpoint, and 26 mechanical pencil. The seller is in Serbia and didn't have a lot of feedback... The price was just too good to pass up, though 😆

The showing of “Russians at War” by the Antenna Documentary Film Festival in Australia should be stopped. The representation of soldiers who have systemically raped, looted, tortured, burned, kidnapped and murdered their way through #Ukraine as ‘normal soldiers’ is untrue & Russian propaganda.

New fountain pen day 😀 I know there's nothing special about the Hongdien C1, but I'd never tried one before, and there was a crazy good deal going on AliExpress the other day. I got this one shipped to my door for AUD $5.43 (USD $3.30)!!! Just crazy!

Picture of a white coloured Hongdien C1 fountain pen with the cap on.

Picture of a dismantled Hongdien C1 fountain pen showing the individual components (cap, nib/grip section, barrel and cartridge converter).

Picture of a Hongdien C1 fountain pen with a handwritten note that says:

I just inked my new Hongdien C1.

It has an extra-fine nib which is a little scratchy, but is super fine.

The ink is Pilot Iroshizuku Fuyu-Gaki.

Then there is a comparison of some handwriting using the Hongdoen C1 extra-fine, a Pilot Metropolitan fine and a Lamy Safari fine.

Google decided to remind me that 6 years ago today, I was finishing off this sweet FPV quadcopter build. Whilst most people were building 5 inch racers and freestyle builds, I was obsessed with efficient 7, 8 and 10 inch quads, high cruise speeds and long flight times on homemade 6s LiIon packs

If you went to college/uni 1. What was your career goal when you started? 2. Your initial major? 3. If you changed majors, what did you change to? 4. What do you do now? 1. Product development/marketing 2. BAppSc & BBus(Mktg) 3. Finished BAppSc, dropped out of BBus(Mktg) 4. Own a marketing agency 😂

Apparently, I've had too much coffee to write smoothly this morning 😄 Anyway, it's a new nib and ink day! Here's a quick test of the 1.1mm stub nib and Lamy Dark Lilac ink I picked up the other day. So far, I'm enjoying both! I hope everyone on the fountain pen feed is having a wonderful day!

Picture of a Lamy Safari fountain pen and handwritten note which says:

First ink with my new Lamy 1.1mm stub nib and Lamy Dark Lilac ink.

The nib seems like it will be fun. It's very smooth and quite wet. It doesn't have as much line variation as I expected. I might need to grab a 1.5 or 1.9mm nib next time.

Lamy Dark Lilac is a very nice dark purple ink. It has a very subtle green sheen on this 80gsm Rhodia paper. I like it!

Cheers,
Jake
