Alright #earth-science sky. I need to #rant. Every year across a range of the Earth Science disciplines a bunch of papers get published with the sole-focus of publishing a software or glorified excel spreadsheet, touting it an amazing resource. They never ask does it exist already?

Hello @earth-science.bsky.social! Does anyone have any experience with fused disc XRF analyses using the Panalytical Episilon 3 or similar? Having issues with the Conc. to Calc. Conc. calibration line; the software is not intuitive so I'm not sure how it calcs the conc. Any help is welcome 🧡

Do any geochemist types have thoughts on ED-XRF & why a Panalytical Epsilon 3 would be playing up + not generating a valid calibration line? Standards are fine, the previous calibration worked with them but we added some elements (S, F, Sc, V) & now can't reproduce any of the standard values.
