NEW: asylum-seeker Martin Soto, who helped organize a hunger and labor strike in ICE’s notorious Delaney Hall, was released late last night with an ankle monitor. He spent 8 consecutive months in ICE custody, much of that time in solitary confinement. www.motherjones.com/politics/202...

At a point where I thought the article was now going to press, I received an email stating: "we noticed that 45 references have been provided, of which 36 are not cited in the text." I look, and not only are these cited in the text, some are the primary works under discussion — cited multiple times!

I have never encountered an academic publishing company as badly run as Wiley. If not for the intervention of one of the editors of this special issue of Children & Society, I would have withdrawn my piece. Badly designed management system, & truly strange & seemingly endless queries.

In June, Belgium’s diamond industry gifted Trump an 18-karat gold ring encrusted with 321 diamonds and 75 gemstones. A month later, European diamonds got an exemption from Trump’s tariffs. We don’t know where the ring is today. Where did it go? Did Trump keep it for himself?

all program closures are short-sighted in this way. you never know what types of knowledge will be needed in the future. careerism focuses on current job markets, while ceding our potential to meet future needs — careerist, sure, but we’ll also need civic-minded folks to rebuild society.

4/ Fernando Vasquez, an 18-year-old citizen, was on break from work when agents chased and handcuffed him, then put him in their truck. After realizing their mistake, the agents left the teen alone in the woods, with no way to get home. Then they threw his ID out of the truck.
